Align your credentials to Carrier's engineering focus
Carrier's Program Manager roles in manufacturing lean heavily on engineering degrees, PMP certification, and supply chain or operations experience. Frame your resume and credentials around product lifecycle management and cross-functional team leadership in industrial or technical environments.
Target Carrier's HVAC and refrigeration business units
Program Manager openings at Carrier cluster around its climate and energy solutions divisions. Search specifically for roles tied to new product introduction, supplier quality, or manufacturing operations rather than applying broadly across all 45 open positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Carrier's sponsorship-eligible openings
Not every Program Manager listing at Carrier will explicitly state visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where Carrier has a verified sponsorship track record, so you avoid wasting applications on positions that won't move forward for international candidates.
Start your OPT application timeline before your final semester
If you're on F-1 OPT, USCIS recommends filing your EAD application up to 90 days before your program end date. Delays in EAD issuance are common, so confirm your start date with Carrier's HR team aligns with when your work authorization will actually be active.
Clarify H-1B cap timing with Carrier's immigration team
H-1B cap registrations open in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. Ask Carrier's talent acquisition team early in the offer process whether they file under cap-subject or cap-exempt rules, and confirm they use premium processing to reduce approval uncertainty.
Prepare a clear project portfolio before final-round interviews
Carrier's Program Manager hiring panels in manufacturing consistently assess candidates on program delivery outcomes, not just process knowledge. Document two or three examples of programs you owned end-to-end, with measurable scope, schedule, and cost results from prior manufacturing or technical environments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Carrier sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Carrier sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. Sponsorship is more common in engineering-heavy divisions like HVAC, refrigeration, and fire safety, where the specialty occupation standard is easier to demonstrate. Carrier's immigration team typically works with outside counsel to manage the LCA filing with DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS, so expect a structured process once you receive an offer.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Carrier?
Applications go through Carrier's careers portal at jobs.carrier.com, where you can filter by job function and location. Roles are categorized under operations, engineering, or project management depending on the business unit. If you need visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse Carrier's Program Manager openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility, which helps you focus on listings where international candidates have a realistic path forward.
Which visa types does Carrier use for Program Manager roles?
Carrier sponsors H-1B visas for Program Managers hired into permanent or long-term roles. For recent graduates, F-1 OPT and CPT are used during the transition period, and TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying program or engineering management roles. The most common pathway for international hires moving into full-time positions is H-1B after completing OPT.
What qualifications does Carrier expect for Program Manager candidates?
Carrier's Program Manager roles in manufacturing typically require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or systems engineering, often with a preference for a master's degree or PMP certification. Relevant experience includes new product introduction, supply chain coordination, or operations program management in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Familiarity with stage-gate processes and cross-functional team leadership is consistently emphasized across Carrier's business units.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Program Manager role at Carrier?
Timeline depends on which visa type applies to your situation. For H-1B, cap registration occurs in March, with a start date no earlier than October 1 if selected. OPT extensions through STEM OPT give F-1 graduates up to 36 months of work authorization before H-1B sponsorship becomes necessary. Carrier's HR and immigration teams generally initiate the process after a formal offer is signed, so raising sponsorship requirements early in negotiations avoids delays.
