Frame your credentials around program lifecycle
KBR Program Manager roles emphasize end-to-end program delivery, not just task management. Before applying, document your experience owning scope, schedule, and budget across multi-phase manufacturing or engineering programs. USCIS specialty occupation reviews scrutinize whether your degree directly supports the role.
Target KBR's government services and industrial programs
KBR's Program Manager openings cluster around long-term government contracts and industrial manufacturing projects. Roles tied to defense or energy infrastructure tend to have more established sponsorship workflows, so filtering by business unit sharpens your targeting before outreach.
Confirm the role's labor certification pathway early
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship at KBR requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL. Ask your recruiter which green card pathway the role is approved for before accepting an offer, since PERM timelines can run 12 to 18 months before the I-140 stage.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles by visa type
KBR posts Program Manager positions across multiple portals, making it hard to isolate roles with active sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters KBR's open positions by visa category so you can focus your applications on roles where EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before signing your offer
KBR's standard offer letters don't always specify visa pathway details. Before signing, confirm whether the company will cover I-140 fees, whether premium processing is available for H-2A or employment-based petitions, and who retains the approved petition if employment ends.
Align your resume to KBR's contract-driven language
KBR recruiters screen for program management experience tied to contract deliverables, earned value, and stakeholder reporting. Resumes that quantify scope value managed and client types served get further faster than those listing generic project management duties.

Find Program Manager at KBR JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KBR sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
KBR's primary sponsorship pathway for Program Managers runs through employment-based Green Card categories rather than the H-1B. The company has filed H-2A petitions, but for skilled professional roles like Program Manager, EB-2 and EB-3 are the more common routes. If you're currently on an H-1B with another employer, discuss transfer eligibility with KBR's HR team directly during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at KBR?
Applications go through KBR's careers portal at kbr.com/careers. Roles are posted by business line, so searching by function and location together narrows results effectively. You can also browse KBR's open Program Manager positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where international candidates are actively considered.
Which visa types does KBR commonly use for Program Manager roles?
For Program Manager positions, KBR has used EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways, both of which require a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the petition stage. H-2A has appeared in KBR's filing history but is designed for temporary agricultural work and is not the standard route for Program Manager roles in manufacturing or government services.
What qualifications does KBR expect for Program Manager candidates seeking sponsorship?
KBR typically looks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience managing large-scale programs in manufacturing, defense, or energy sectors. PMP certification strengthens applications considerably. USCIS will also review whether your degree field directly supports the specialty occupation determination for the specific role.
How do I estimate the timeline for getting sponsored by KBR as a Program Manager?
If KBR pursues an EB-3 or EB-2 Green Card for you, the PERM labor certification process with DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months, followed by the I-140 petition with USCIS. Priority date backlogs for employment-based categories, particularly for nationals of India, can extend the overall timeline significantly beyond the petition approval stage. Get clarity on your priority country early.
