Align Your Credentials to KBR's Specialty Occupation Standard
KBR's Project Engineer roles typically require a degree in mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering. Make sure your transcripts and foreign credential evaluations clearly establish that field-specific match before applying, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility closely.
Target KBR's Industrial and Manufacturing Project Teams
KBR staffs Project Engineers across manufacturing facility construction, plant upgrades, and process engineering programs. Applying to roles tied to active industrial contracts strengthens your chances, since those teams carry more urgency to fill positions and more flexibility on sponsorship timelines.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter KBR's Open Roles by Visa Type
Not every open Project Engineer role at KBR will come with sponsorship attached. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for KBR positions that align with the visa categories they've sponsored, saving you time on applications that are unlikely to move forward.
Prepare for a Multi-Stage Interview That Tests Technical Depth
KBR's Project Engineer interviews typically assess project controls, cost management, and engineering execution experience. Going in with documented examples from complex industrial or construction projects signals you're ready for day-one contribution, which makes the sponsorship conversation easier for hiring teams to justify.

Find Project Engineer at KBR JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KBR sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
KBR's sponsorship activity for Project Engineers has been concentrated in immigrant visa categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B. If you're currently on an H-1B with another employer, a transfer is possible, but you'll want to confirm directly with KBR's recruiting team which visa pathways they support for the specific role you're targeting.
Which visa types does KBR commonly use for Project Engineer roles?
For Project Engineers, KBR has primarily sponsored through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. These pathways are typically initiated after a full-time offer and lead to a Green Card rather than a temporary work status.
What qualifications does KBR expect for a sponsored Project Engineer position?
KBR's Project Engineer roles in manufacturing generally expect a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, civil, chemical, or industrial engineering. Relevant project controls experience, familiarity with EPC or construction environments, and proficiency in project scheduling tools are commonly cited in their postings. Foreign credentials should be evaluated for U.S. equivalency before you apply.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at KBR?
You can find and filter KBR's open Project Engineer roles on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions by visa sponsorship category so you can focus on roles where sponsorship is realistic. Once you identify a target role, apply through KBR's careers portal and reference your visa status clearly in your application to avoid delays in the screening process.
How do I plan around the timeline for KBR's Green Card sponsorship process?
The EB-2 and EB-3 pathways both require DOL PERM labor certification, which can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is even filed with USCIS. If your priority date falls in a backlogged country of birth category, the wait for visa availability can extend further. Start the conversation with KBR's HR team about sponsorship intent as early as possible after receiving an offer.
