Align your credentials with U.S. standards
KBR's accounting roles often require CPA licensure or active CPA candidacy. If your credentials were earned outside the U.S., get them evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before applying so your application clears initial screening without delay.
Target KBR's project accounting openings specifically
KBR's manufacturing and government services work generates consistent demand for project cost accountants, not just general ledger roles. Filter your search for titles like Project Accountant or Cost Controls Analyst, where sponsorship tends to follow the specialized skill set.
Understand which visa pathways KBR actually files
KBR has filed both H-2A and employment-based Green Card petitions for accounting functions. For most Accountant hires, EB-2 or EB-3 PERM-based sponsorship is the more likely long-term path, so be prepared to discuss permanent residency timelines with a recruiter early.
Ask about PERM timing before accepting an offer
PERM labor certification through DOL can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 is even filed. Confirm whether KBR initiates PERM at the time of hire or after a qualifying period, so your immigration timeline doesn't catch you off guard post-offer.
Use Migrate Mate to surface KBR's open Accountant roles
Migrate Mate aggregates visa-sponsoring employer listings so you can filter directly for KBR's accounting openings. It saves you from manually cross-referencing job boards with DOL disclosure data to identify which postings are realistically sponsorship-eligible.
Prepare for E-Verify enrollment during onboarding
KBR participates in E-Verify, which means your work authorization is confirmed electronically at hire. Have your I-94, visa documentation, and any EAD or approval notices organized before your start date so the Form I-9 process goes smoothly.

Find Accountant at KBR JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KBR sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
KBR's primary sponsorship path for Accountants runs through employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. The company has a history of filing EB-2 and EB-3 PERM petitions for accounting professionals. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer is possible, but confirm KBR's willingness to file a new H-1B petition directly with the recruiter during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at KBR?
Applications go through KBR's careers portal at kbr.com. Search by job function or location, then apply directly with a resume tailored to project-based accounting environments. You can also browse KBR's current Accountant openings with visa sponsorship context on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where sponsorship has been documented, saving you time on outreach to positions that won't support your visa needs.
Which visa types are commonly used for Accountant roles at KBR?
KBR has sponsored Accountants through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories, both of which require PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. These pathways suit candidates seeking permanent residency rather than a temporary work visa. If you're already in the U.S. in a valid nonimmigrant status, talk to KBR's HR team about whether a status change or concurrent filing is an option during the hiring process.
What qualifications does KBR expect for Accountant roles?
Most KBR Accountant postings require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with preference for CPA licensure or active candidacy. Given KBR's project-driven business in engineering and government services, experience with project cost accounting, earned value management, or government contract compliance under FAR regulations strengthens your application considerably beyond a standard accounting background.
How do I plan my immigration timeline for a KBR Accountant role?
If KBR sponsors you through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM, plan for a multi-year process. DOL labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months, followed by I-140 adjudication at USCIS and then visa availability depending on your country of birth. Start the conversation about sponsorship intent before signing your offer letter so you and KBR align on when the PERM process begins relative to your start date.
