Obtain Your Real Estate License Early
Every U.S. state requires a real estate license before you can work as a Sales Agent. Start your pre-licensing coursework while your visa application is in progress so your credential is ready the moment you receive work authorization.
Target Individual Keller Williams Market Centers
Keller Williams operates through independently owned Market Centers, not a single corporate HR department. Reach out directly to Market Center team leaders in your target city, since hiring and sponsorship decisions are made at the local franchise level, not nationally.
Clarify Your Commission Structure Before Filing
Sales Agent roles at Keller Williams are typically commission-based. Before your employer files a PERM or LCA with DOL, confirm that your compensation structure meets the prevailing wage requirement, because commission-only arrangements can complicate the wage attestation process.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Positions
Keller Williams Market Centers post Sales Agent openings across dozens of locations simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type so you only apply to Market Centers that have an active sponsorship history for this specific position.
Align Your Degree Field With Specialty Occupation Evidence
H-1B eligibility requires proving the Sales Agent role is a specialty occupation. For real estate, a degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field strengthens the connection between your academic background and the technical demands of the position.
Plan Around TN Visa Eligibility If You Are Canadian or Mexican
TN status can be a faster path than H-1B for qualifying Sales Agent roles at Keller Williams. Confirm with the hiring Market Center that your job duties align with a USMCA-eligible occupation category before your offer letter is drafted, since the role description determines eligibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Keller Williams Realty sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Agents?
Keller Williams has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales Agent roles, but sponsorship decisions are made at the individual Market Center level rather than by a central corporate HR team. Your best path is to engage directly with the team leader at your target Market Center and confirm sponsorship willingness before investing time in the application process.
How do I apply for Sales Agent jobs at Keller Williams Realty?
Applications go through individual Market Centers, which operate as independent franchises. You can browse open Sales Agent positions filtered by visa sponsorship history on Migrate Mate, then apply directly to the Market Centers that match your location and visa needs. Having your real estate pre-licensing coursework completed before you apply strengthens your candidacy significantly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Agent roles at Keller Williams Realty?
Keller Williams has a track record of sponsoring EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas as well as F-1 OPT and CPT for students early in their real estate careers. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA. H-1B sponsorship is possible but depends on the individual Market Center's resources and willingness to support the filing.
What qualifications does Keller Williams Realty expect for Sales Agent roles?
A valid state real estate license is a baseline requirement. Keller Williams typically looks for strong interpersonal skills, local market knowledge, and demonstrable sales experience. For visa sponsorship purposes, a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field adds important support for specialty occupation claims, particularly for H-1B filings.
How do I navigate the sponsorship timeline for a Sales Agent role at Keller Williams Realty?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization takes roughly 90 days from USCIS filing, so apply to your program's designated school official well before your graduation date. PERM-based immigrant visa paths through DOL can take a year or longer from initial filing to approval. Engaging the Market Center's immigration counsel early and confirming their preferred visa pathway before you receive an offer prevents costly delays.
