Earn a Real Estate License First
Most Sales roles at Keller Williams require a state-issued real estate license before you can represent buyers or sellers. Research your state's licensing board requirements early, since coursework and exams can take two to three months to complete.
Target Market Centers Directly
Keller Williams operates through independently owned Market Centers, each making its own hiring decisions. Reaching out directly to a local Market Center Operating Principal gives you a faster path to a sponsorship conversation than applying through a general job board.
Clarify Your Visa Category Before Outreach
Keller Williams has sponsored TN, F-1 OPT, and permanent residence pathways for Sales roles. Knowing which category fits your situation lets you frame the conversation accurately and helps the Market Center assess what filing process is involved.
Document Your Commission-Based Income History
PERM and EB-2 or EB-3 petitions require evidence of qualifying employment. If your Sales background includes commission income, gather tax returns, broker letters, and transaction records now so your employer can support your petition with a clean employment history.
Align Your Timeline with F-1 OPT Windows
If you're on F-1 OPT, the 60-day unemployment limit is a real constraint in commission-based sales, where onboarding can run long before your first closed deal. Negotiate a structured training period and clarify with your employer when your active employment status officially begins.
Browse Open Roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sales openings at Keller Williams by the visa types the company has sponsored. This helps you identify which Market Centers are actively hiring and which locations have a track record of supporting international candidates in Sales.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Keller Williams Realty sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Keller Williams Realty's sponsorship activity for Sales roles has focused on F-1 OPT, TN visas, and permanent residence pathways like EB-2 and EB-3. H-1B visa sponsorship for Sales positions is less common in real estate because commission-based roles can complicate the specialty occupation classification that USCIS requires. That said, hiring decisions are made at the individual Market Center level, so it is worth having a direct conversation with the specific office you are targeting.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Keller Williams Realty?
Start by browsing open Sales positions on Migrate Mate, which filters Keller Williams listings by visa sponsorship history so you can focus on locations most relevant to your situation. Because Keller Williams operates through independently owned Market Centers, following up directly with the local Operating Principal after submitting an application significantly improves your chances of getting a sponsorship conversation on the table early.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales roles at Keller Williams Realty?
Keller Williams has sponsored F-1 OPT and CPT for Sales roles, which works well for recent graduates entering real estate while still completing their studies or within their post-completion work authorization window. The company has also used TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in Sales, and has supported EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residence petitions for longer-term hires.
What qualifications and experience does Keller Williams Realty expect for Sales roles?
Most Sales positions require a valid state real estate license, which typically takes two to three months to obtain through coursework and an exam. Beyond licensing, Keller Williams looks for candidates with strong client relationship skills, experience in sales or business development, and ideally a background in real estate transactions or property management. Bilingual candidates are particularly competitive in markets with large international buyer pools.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Sales role at Keller Williams?
If you are on F-1 OPT, align your job search with your authorization end date and factor in the time needed to obtain a real estate license before you can generate commission income. For TN or PERM-based pathways, expect your employer to need several weeks to prepare documentation. Confirm early in the hiring process which Market Center will act as your sponsoring entity, since each operates independently and timelines will vary.
