Tailor your portfolio to test instrumentation
Keysight builds electronic test and measurement equipment, so highlight mechanical design work tied to precision hardware, thermal management, or enclosure design. Recruiters respond to candidates whose portfolios reflect the physical constraints of high-frequency electronics.
Verify your degree field matches the role
H-1B specialty occupation requires your degree to align directly with the Mechanical Engineer position. A degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering maps cleanly. A general engineering degree in an unrelated discipline may complicate the USCIS adjudication.
Browse open roles through Migrate Mate
Keysight posts Mechanical Engineer openings across multiple sites and divisions. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles at Keysight that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not wasting applications on positions where sponsorship isn't on the table.
Flag STEM OPT eligibility in your application
Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program typically qualifies for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. If you're targeting Keysight before the H-1B lottery, confirming your program's STEM designation with your DSO buys meaningful time before cap-subject status is required.
Understand how green card sponsorship is initiated
Keysight sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for engineering roles, which typically requires PERM labor certification through the DOL. This process starts after you're employed, so ask HR about the company's standard timeline for initiating PERM after your first year.

Find Mechanical Engineer at Keysight Technologies JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Keysight Technologies sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, Keysight Technologies sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers. The company has a consistent sponsorship history for engineering roles across its hardware and instrumentation divisions. If you receive an offer, Keysight's immigration team typically coordinates with outside counsel to handle the H-1B petition, including the required Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at Keysight Technologies?
Apply directly through Keysight's careers portal or browse open Mechanical Engineer roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Tailor your resume to highlight hardware design experience relevant to test and measurement equipment. If you're on a work visa or OPT, clearly indicate your authorization status so recruiters can route your application correctly from the start.
Which visa types does Keysight Technologies commonly use for Mechanical Engineers?
Keysight sponsors H-1B visas for initial work authorization and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. Mechanical Engineers on F-1 STEM OPT can also work at Keysight before transitioning to H-1B status. The right visa pathway depends on your degree level, nationality, and career stage at the time of hiring.
What qualifications does Keysight Technologies expect for Mechanical Engineer roles?
Most Keysight Mechanical Engineer roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace, or a closely related engineering discipline. Roles in hardware development frequently expect proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA, along with experience in thermal analysis, structural design, or manufacturing for precision electronics. Senior positions typically expect several years of industry experience in electronics or instrumentation hardware.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Keysight Technologies?
The standard H-1B process runs through the April lottery with an October 1 start date, meaning you typically need an offer by February or March. The DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before USCIS filing, which adds two to four weeks. Premium processing with USCIS reduces adjudication to about 15 business days if Keysight elects to use it.
