Overview:
We are seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with a "fix-anything" mindset to join our team. This is a true multi-craft role—to be successful, you must be confident working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines, with strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause.
Whether you are a Junior Technician fresh out of Technical school looking to build a career, or a Seasoned Veteran with 20+ years of industrial experience, we have a place for you. We value technical curiosity and the ability to diagnose complex systems. While we utilize specialized CNC machinery and robotics, these skills aren't required on day one–we are looking for a technician with a broad-based skill set who can master our specific equipment through provided training and hands-on experience.
If you are a versatile problem-solver with strong fundamentals in electrical, mechanical, plc and more, we want to hear from you.
Compensation
- $29.25 - $37.25 / hr base pay

Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Anything – Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues quickly and safely; approach each problem with a structured mindset to restore equipment and prevent repeat failures.
- Electrical Maintenance & Diagnostics – Troubleshoot low-voltage controls, sensors, motors, starters, and relays. Support high-voltage troubleshooting and ensure all work meets safety and LOTO standards.
- Mechanical Systems & Repair – Repair and rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, and complex industrial machinery. Perform precision alignments and component replacements.
- PLC & Automation Support – Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-driven equipment. While our systems are specific, we need technicians who can navigate logic to identify hardware vs. software issues.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Maintain and repair high-use pumps, cylinders, valves, and actuators essential to our production uptime.
- CNC & Robotics Maintenance – Provide specialized support for CNC equipment and robotic cells (Experience is a plus; we will train the right multi-craft candidate).
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance – Execute scheduled PMs within our SAP PM system, identifying and flagging wear-and-tear before it leads to a breakdown.
- Documentation & Readiness – Log all work in SAP, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure a clean "Equipment Turnover" to the operations team after repairs.
Requirements Required:
- The Multi-Craft Mindset: A proven ability to work "both sides of the house" (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Electrical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting sensors, motors, and control panels.

Target roles that align with LaborUp's placed disciplines
Staffing firms sponsor visas for roles they actively place, not just internal hires. Focus your application on positions that match LaborUp's core recruiting verticals, as those are most likely to have an established sponsorship pathway.
Understand how staffing agency sponsorship works
When a staffing firm sponsors you, the visa is tied to the agency, not the end client. Clarify whether LaborUp would be your direct employer of record, as this affects how your H-1B petition is structured and who bears the legal responsibility.
Engage recruiters who specialize in international placements
Within staffing firms like LaborUp, not every recruiter handles visa-sponsored roles. Ask specifically for the team or individual that manages international candidate placements to avoid being routed through a pipeline that doesn't support sponsorship.
Time your outreach around H-1B cap season
H-1B sponsorship through a staffing firm is constrained by the annual cap window. Reaching out between January and March improves your chances of being considered before the filing deadline. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and plan accordingly.
Demonstrate long-term placement potential to justify sponsorship
Staffing agencies weigh sponsorship decisions against client demand. Positioning yourself as a candidate likely to generate sustained billable placements, not just a short-term fill, makes LaborUp more likely to invest in sponsoring your visa.

Find laborup JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does laborup sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, LaborUp sponsors H-1B visas. As a staffing and recruiting firm, sponsorship is typically tied to placement opportunities where the company acts as the employer of record. If you're pursuing an H-1B through LaborUp, expect the petition to be filed in connection with a specific client engagement rather than a traditional direct-hire role.
Which visa types does LaborUp sponsor?
LaborUp sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas, as well as TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. This range makes them a viable option for international candidates at different stages of their U.S. work authorization journey, particularly those already on F-1 status looking to transition into longer-term sponsorship.
What types of roles at LaborUp are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Because LaborUp is a staffing and recruiting firm, sponsored roles tend to be those they actively place with clients rather than purely internal corporate positions. Candidates in technical, professional, or specialized fields that align with LaborUp's recruiting verticals have the strongest case for sponsorship, as demand from end clients drives the decision to file.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at LaborUp?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find visa-sponsored openings at companies like LaborUp. It filters jobs by verified sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time applying to roles where sponsorship is listed as a possibility but rarely granted. Search by visa type and industry to surface positions that match your authorization status.
How do I approach the application process at LaborUp as an international candidate?
Be transparent about your visa status and timeline from the first point of contact. Staffing firms move quickly, and delays caused by unclear sponsorship requirements can cost you a placement. If you're on OPT, note your expiration date and cap-gap eligibility. If you need H-1B sponsorship, ask early whether the role supports cap-subject filing.
