Overview:
We are seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with a "fix-anything" mindset to join our team. This is a true multi-craft role—to be successful, you must be confident working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines, with strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause.
Whether you are a Junior Technician fresh out of Technical school looking to build a career, or a Seasoned Veteran with 20+ years of industrial experience, we have a place for you. We value technical curiosity and the ability to diagnose complex systems. While we utilize specialized CNC machinery and robotics, these skills aren't required on day one–we are looking for a technician with a broad-based skill set who can master our specific equipment through provided training and hands-on experience.
If you are a versatile problem-solver with strong fundamentals in electrical, mechanical, plc and more, we want to hear from you.
Compensation
- $29.25 - $37.25 / hr base pay
- $28 - $36 / hr base pay

Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Anything – Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues quickly and safely; approach each problem with a structured mindset to restore equipment and prevent repeat failures.
- Electrical Maintenance & Diagnostics – Troubleshoot low-voltage controls, sensors, motors, starters, and relays. Support high-voltage troubleshooting and ensure all work meets safety and LOTO standards.
- Mechanical Systems & Repair – Repair and rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, and complex industrial machinery. Perform precision alignments and component replacements.
- PLC & Automation Support – Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-driven equipment. While our systems are specific, we need technicians who can navigate logic to identify hardware vs. software issues.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Maintain and repair high-use pumps, cylinders, valves, and actuators essential to our production uptime.
- CNC & Robotics Maintenance – Provide specialized support for CNC equipment and robotic cells (Experience is a plus; we will train the right multi-craft candidate).
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance – Execute scheduled PMs within our SAP PM system, identifying and flagging wear-and-tear before it leads to a breakdown.
- Documentation & Readiness – Log all work in SAP, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure a clean "Equipment Turnover" to the operations team after repairs.
Requirements Required:
- The Multi-Craft Mindset: A proven ability to work "both sides of the house" (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Electrical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting sensors, motors, and control panels.

Verify your credentials match client requirements
laborup places technicians with client businesses, so your certifications and technical credentials need to satisfy both laborup and the end client. Confirm your licenses or trade qualifications meet the specific requirements of the placement site before applying.
Time OPT applications around placement cycles
Staffing firms fill roles in bursts tied to client demand. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in that your 90-day unemployment limit runs against gaps between placements, not just gaps in job searching. Secure your next placement before your current one ends.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Technician roles at laborup
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for laborup Technician postings that include visa sponsorship. Targeting the right listings upfront saves time you'd otherwise spend vetting roles that don't support your visa category.
Ask about TN eligibility for technician classifications
Canadian and Mexican nationals should confirm whether the specific Technician role qualifies under a recognized TN category such as Scientific Technician. Not all technician job titles map cleanly to TN classifications, and the designation needs to match DOL-recognized occupations precisely.
Request the LCA before your start date
Once you have an offer from laborup, request a copy of the certified Labor Condition Application from USCIS's public access file. It confirms your wage level and worksite location are accurate before you commit to the role.

Find Technician at laborup JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does laborup sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, laborup sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles. Because laborup operates as a staffing firm, the H-1B petition names laborup as your employer of record even when you're placed at a client site. You'll want to confirm that the specific Technician position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which requires a nexus between the role and a relevant bachelor's-level field.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at laborup?
You can find open Technician positions at laborup through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles that include visa sponsorship. When you apply, be prepared to specify your visa status and authorization type early in the process. laborup's staffing model means roles can open and fill quickly, so applying promptly when a matching position is listed gives you the best window.
Which visa types are commonly used for Technician roles at laborup?
laborup sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Technician positions. F-1 CPT is typically used for students in cooperative education programs. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose technician role maps to a qualifying USMCA occupation category. H-1B is the most common path for longer-term sponsorship once you've completed OPT.
What qualifications are expected for Technician roles at laborup?
Expected qualifications vary by the client placement and the technical discipline involved, but most Technician roles require a relevant degree, certification, or demonstrable trade background in the specific technical area. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, the role needs to require at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field. Industry-recognized certifications often strengthen your candidacy alongside academic credentials.
How do I think about timing when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through a staffing firm?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with USCIS opening registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT when you apply at laborup, confirm your OPT expiration date against that timeline. If OPT expires before October 1, ask whether a cap-gap extension applies to your situation, which USCIS provides automatically for eligible F-1 students.
