Verify Your Psychology License Before Applying
LifeStance requires state licensure as a condition of employment, not just a degree. Confirm your license is active and unrestricted in the state you're targeting before submitting, since unlicensed candidates are rarely considered for sponsorship.
Target States With High LifeStance Openings
LifeStance operates clinics across dozens of states, but hiring density varies. Research which states have the most open Clinical Psychologist postings and prioritize those, since high-volume hiring regions are more likely to have active sponsorship infrastructure already in place.
Clarify Telehealth Versus In-Clinic Sponsorship Separately
LifeStance offers both telehealth and in-clinic roles, and H-1B sponsorship requirements can differ by worksite structure. Ask the recruiter specifically whether the role is tied to a single clinic address, since multi-site or remote arrangements affect how USCIS evaluates the petition.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter LifeStance Sponsorship Roles
Not every LifeStance job posting explicitly mentions visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Clinical Psychologist openings by sponsorship type, so you're only spending time on roles where your visa situation is already a fit.
Align Your Postdoctoral Hours to State Requirements Before Filing
Some states require postdoctoral supervised hours before granting full licensure, and H-1B filing timelines must account for this. If you're still completing supervision hours, confirm with the recruiter whether LifeStance will initiate sponsorship during that phase or requires full licensure first.

Find Clinical Psychologist at LifeStance Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does LifeStance Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Psychologists?
LifeStance Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Clinical Psychologist roles, though it is not among the highest-volume H-1B filers in the healthcare sector. Clinical Psychologist positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards given the doctoral-level degree requirement, which supports H-1B eligibility. Your best approach is to raise sponsorship directly with the recruiter during the initial screening call, before investing time in the full interview process.
How do I apply for Clinical Psychologist jobs at LifeStance Health?
You can apply through LifeStance Health's careers page or find filtered sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate. Applications typically require a current CV, proof of doctoral-level licensure or active licensure in the target state, and documentation of your work authorization status. LifeStance's recruiting process usually involves a phone screen followed by a clinical interview with a regional or clinic director.
Which visa types does LifeStance Health commonly sponsor for Clinical Psychologist roles?
LifeStance has supported F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for candidates still in postdoctoral training, H-1B for licensed psychologists in specialty occupation roles, and both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose psychology credentials meet USMCA occupational requirements. The visa type offered will depend on your credential stage and the specific role structure.
What qualifications does LifeStance Health expect for Clinical Psychologist positions?
LifeStance requires a doctoral degree in psychology, either a Ph.D. or Psy.D., along with an active and unrestricted state psychology license in the state where you'll practice. Candidates with experience in evidence-based modalities such as CBT or DBT are preferred for most outpatient roles. For internationally trained psychologists, you'll also need credential evaluation and may need to complete any remaining state-required supervised hours before licensure is granted.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at LifeStance Health?
From offer acceptance to start date, timelines vary by visa type. H-1B transfers for already-sponsored candidates can move quickly, often within a few weeks. New H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to USCIS's annual lottery cycle, with October 1 start dates. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years or longer depending on your country of birth and priority date. Clarify the specific pathway and timeline with LifeStance's HR team before accepting an offer.
