Verify Your Psychiatric NP Credentials Early
LifeStance hires almost exclusively for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner roles. Confirm your PMHNP-BC certification and state licensure are in order before applying, since credentialing delays are the most common reason offers stall at this stage.
Target States With Telehealth-Expanded Hiring
LifeStance's open NP positions are spread across states with full practice authority laws, which speed up credentialing. Focus your search on states like Colorado, Arizona, and Washington, where LifeStance has dense hiring activity and fewer licensing bottlenecks.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Sponsorship-Confirmed Openings
Not every LifeStance posting publicly flags visa sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Nurse Practitioner roles at LifeStance that have confirmed sponsorship history, so you're not applying blind to positions that won't move forward.
Understand How TN Status Applies to NP Roles
Canadian and Mexican NPs may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA-successor treaty, which covers registered nurses and requires a qualifying job offer. Confirm with LifeStance's HR team that the specific role description aligns with the TN nurse category before relying on this pathway.
Ask About PERM Timing Before Signing an Offer
EB-3 sponsorship for healthcare roles typically requires PERM labor certification through DOL, which can take one to two years. Ask LifeStance directly whether they initiate PERM filing at offer or after a probationary period, since the answer significantly affects your long-term immigration timeline.
Align Your OPT End Date With Credentialing Timelines
LifeStance's credentialing process typically runs 60 to 90 days after an offer is signed. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorized period covers the full credentialing window before your start date, since you cannot work until credentialing is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LifeStance Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioners?
LifeStance Health's primary sponsorship pathways for Nurse Practitioners are EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas rather than the H-1B visa. Nurse Practitioners are classified as specialty occupation roles, but LifeStance's documented sponsorship activity skews toward permanent residence tracks. If H-1B is your goal, raise it explicitly during the offer stage, since not all LifeStance hiring managers will volunteer this information upfront.
How do I apply for Nurse Practitioner jobs at LifeStance Health?
Applications go through LifeStance Health's careers portal, where roles are listed by state and specialty. Most postings are for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point if you need to filter specifically for positions with confirmed visa sponsorship, so you can focus your applications on openings that are realistic for your immigration situation.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nurse Practitioner roles at LifeStance Health?
LifeStance Health has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Nurse Practitioners, which are permanent residence pathways rather than temporary work statuses. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under the treaty's nurse category. F-1 OPT and CPT are also recognized, primarily for PMHNP graduates completing supervised practice hours before full licensure.
What qualifications does LifeStance Health expect for sponsored Nurse Practitioner roles?
LifeStance hires almost exclusively for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, so a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice with a PMHNP specialization is the baseline. Active PMHNP-BC certification through ANCC and an unrestricted state license are required before credentialing begins. Some postings list prior outpatient or telehealth experience as preferred, particularly for roles involving independent caseloads.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nurse Practitioner position at LifeStance Health?
If LifeStance sponsors you through the EB-3 pathway, expect a multi-year process. DOL PERM labor certification alone can take one to two years, followed by I-140 petition processing with USCIS. Your total wait for a Green Card depends heavily on your country of birth and the applicable priority date backlog. Factor this into offer negotiations and confirm whether LifeStance covers legal fees or passes them to you.
