Verify your NP licensure before applying
PeaceHealth requires state licensure in the state where you'll practice. Confirm your APRN license is active and transferable to Oregon, Washington, or Alaska before submitting applications, since licensure delays can stall an offer and H-1B filing timeline.
Target postings with specialty alignment
PeaceHealth lists NP openings by specialty and care setting. Focus on roles matching your clinical background, whether primary care, cardiology, or oncology, because specialty fit directly affects how smoothly the employer justifies a specialty occupation classification to USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to filter NP roles by sponsorship history
Searching for Nurse Practitioner openings across a large health system is time-consuming. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for PeaceHealth NP roles where sponsorship has been offered, so you apply where your effort is most likely to convert.
Ask about visa type early in negotiations
PeaceHealth sponsors multiple visa categories for clinical roles. During the offer stage, ask the recruiter directly whether they'll support H-1B, TN, or J-1 for your situation, since the pathway affects your start date and any required DOL prevailing wage documentation.
Gather your clinical documentation before the offer
USCIS requires evidence of your specialty occupation credentials for an H-1B petition. Prepare your degree transcripts, national certification from ANCC or AANP, and prior work authorization records in advance so nothing holds up your employer's filing window.
Account for credential evaluation if your degree is foreign
If your nursing or graduate degree was earned outside the United States, PeaceHealth and USCIS will both expect a credential evaluation from an approved agency confirming equivalency to a U.S. master's or doctoral level NP program. Start this process early.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PeaceHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioners?
Yes, PeaceHealth has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioner roles. NP positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at least a master's degree in a specific clinical field. You'll need an active APRN license for the relevant state, and your employer will need to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Nurse Practitioner jobs at PeaceHealth?
You can browse and apply for Nurse Practitioner openings directly through PeaceHealth's careers portal, filtering by location and specialty. For international candidates specifically seeking sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces PeaceHealth NP listings filtered by visa sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize applications where sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than an open question.
Which visa types does PeaceHealth commonly use for Nurse Practitioners?
PeaceHealth sponsors several visa categories for clinical roles, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican citizens under USMCA, J-1 visa for exchange visitors in qualifying clinical programs, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates with work authorization. For longer-term pathways, PeaceHealth has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which requires going through the PERM labor certification process with the DOL.
What qualifications does PeaceHealth expect for Nurse Practitioner candidates?
PeaceHealth typically expects a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, national certification from ANCC or AANP in a recognized specialty, and an active APRN license in the state of practice. Prior acute care, primary care, or specialty clinic experience strengthens your application. For international candidates, USCIS also requires that your credentials align directly with the specialty occupation claimed in the H-1B petition.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a PeaceHealth NP role?
Timelines vary by visa type. An H-1B cap-subject petition requires filing during the April lottery window with an October 1 start date, meaning you may need to plan six or more months ahead. TN status for Canadians can be obtained at the border in days. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes two or more years. Confirm the intended visa pathway with PeaceHealth's HR team early so your expected start date aligns with the filing calendar.
