Obtain AANP or ANCC Board Certification First
PeaceHealth requires national board certification before credentialing any NP for clinical practice. Confirm your certification aligns with the specialty you're applying for, since a Family NP cert won't satisfy a posting listed under Acute Care.
Target Openings in Underserved Service Areas
PeaceHealth operates facilities in rural and semi-rural Pacific Northwest communities where NP shortages are acute. Roles in those locations move faster to offer and are more likely to prioritize candidates who need sponsorship over those who don't.
Account for State Licensure in Your Timeline
Washington, Oregon, and Alaska each have their own NP licensure boards with processing times that can stretch several months. USCIS won't approve an H-1B without evidence of a valid state license, so start your application the moment you receive a job offer.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter NP Openings by Sponsorship
Browse verified NP listings at PeaceHealth filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. You'll see which roles have an active sponsorship history, saving you from applying to postings where the hiring team has no experience navigating the process.
Prepare Your Credential Evaluation Before Interviews Begin
If your nursing degree is from outside the United States, order a credential evaluation from a CGFNS-approved organization early. PeaceHealth's credentialing office will require it, and delays in evaluation routinely push back offer letters and filing timelines.

Find NP at PeaceHealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does PeaceHealth sponsor H-1B visas for NPs?
Yes, PeaceHealth sponsors H-1B visas for NP roles. Nurse Practitioner positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at minimum a Master of Science in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice. PeaceHealth works with immigration counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and submit the H-1B petition, though the timing depends on your start date and whether cap-subject filing is required.
Which visa types are commonly used for NP roles at PeaceHealth?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for NP hires at PeaceHealth. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens whose NP credential maps to a qualifying USMCA profession. J-1 is occasionally used for clinical training contexts. For permanent residence, PeaceHealth has sponsored eligible NPs through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based pathways, though Green Card support is typically offered after an initial period of employment.
How do I apply for NP jobs at PeaceHealth?
You can find and apply to NP openings at PeaceHealth through Migrate Mate, which lists verified roles with sponsorship history so you can target positions where international candidates have been hired before. When you apply, tailor your materials to the specialty listed in the posting and include your board certification details. PeaceHealth's recruiting team typically screens for licensure eligibility in the relevant state before advancing candidates to interviews.
What qualifications does PeaceHealth expect from NP candidates?
PeaceHealth requires a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice, national board certification through AANP or ANCC in the relevant specialty, and an active or pending state license in Washington, Oregon, or Alaska depending on the facility. Prescriptive authority and DEA registration are required for most clinical NP roles. Prior acute care or specialty experience strengthens your candidacy for hospital-based postings significantly.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a PeaceHealth NP role?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer in place before that window. Cap-exempt candidates, such as those transferring from a qualifying nonprofit or research institution, can file year-round with shorter lead times. Factor in state licensure processing, which can take two to four months, and credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the United States. Build at least six months of runway from offer to start date.
