Verify your NP license transfers across states
Dignity Health operates facilities in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Confirm your NP license is valid in the specific state where you're applying before outreach, since multi-state compact eligibility varies and licensing gaps delay sponsorship timelines significantly.
Align your specialty to open clinic needs
Dignity Health's NP hiring concentrates in primary care, oncology, and cardiovascular settings. Targeting roles that match your clinical specialty improves your petition's specialty occupation argument, which USCIS scrutinizes closely for advanced practice nursing positions.
Request an explicit sponsorship confirmation in writing
Before accepting an offer, ask the recruiter to confirm in writing that Dignity Health will file an H-1B petition or support a permanent residence application. Verbal commitments are not binding, and this protects your timeline planning.
Front-load your credential evaluation documents
If your nursing degree was earned outside the United States, obtain a credentials evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before your first interview. Dignity Health's HR teams need this on file before initiating any DOL Labor Condition Application.
Understand the cap-exempt filing advantage
Dignity Health is a nonprofit health system, which may qualify certain facilities as cap-exempt H-1B employers. That means an H-1B petition could be filed outside the April lottery window, letting you start sooner than a capped employer would allow.
Find open NP roles with sponsorship using Migrate Mate
Filter NP openings at Dignity Health by visa type on Migrate Mate to see which specific roles have active sponsorship listed. This narrows your applications to positions where the sponsorship conversation is already expected from day one.

Find NP at Dignity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dignity Health sponsor H-1B visas for NPs?
Yes, Dignity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioner roles. As a nonprofit health system operating hospitals and clinics, some Dignity Health facilities may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing, which means petitions can be submitted outside the standard April lottery window. Confirm cap-exempt eligibility with the specific facility's HR team during the offer stage, since it varies by site.
Which visa types does Dignity Health commonly use for NP roles?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa path for NPs at Dignity Health, given that the NP role typically satisfies the specialty occupation requirement through its master's-level education standard. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Dignity Health has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which the DOL administers.
How do I apply for NP jobs at Dignity Health?
Applications go through Dignity Health's careers portal, where NP roles are listed by service line and location. Before applying, confirm the posting mentions visa sponsorship or reach out directly to a recruiter. Migrate Mate aggregates Dignity Health NP openings filtered by sponsorship availability, which helps you prioritize roles where immigration support is already part of the hiring conversation.
What qualifications does Dignity Health expect for NP candidates seeking sponsorship?
Dignity Health expects NP candidates to hold a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, an active NP license in the relevant state, and national board certification from ANCC or AANP. Prior clinical experience in the relevant specialty, such as primary care, oncology, or cardiology, strengthens your application and the specialty occupation argument USCIS will evaluate.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through Dignity Health?
If the facility is cap-subject, USCIS only accepts H-1B petitions during the April filing window for an October 1 start date, so your offer needs to be secured well in advance. If the facility is cap-exempt, petitions can be filed year-round with USCIS standard processing taking several months. Factor in the DOL Labor Condition Application, which must be certified before the H-1B petition is submitted, and budget at least 60 to 90 days from offer to filing.
