Verify Your State License Before Applying
California requires a separate NP furnishing number on top of your RN and NP licenses. Dignity Health's credentialing team will flag missing licenses immediately, so confirm your California Board of Registered Nursing paperwork is complete before submitting any application.
Target Dignity Health's Underserved Facility Postings
Positions at Dignity Health facilities in rural or shortage-designated areas move faster through PERM and H-1B filing because DOL prevailing wage pressure is lower. Prioritize postings in those regions to reduce how long the employer-side process takes.
Clarify Sponsorship Intent During Initial Recruiter Contact
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific facility has an immigration counsel relationship in place. Some Dignity Health sites handle filings centrally through corporate HR while others rely on local administrators, and that difference affects your filing timeline by months.
Build a Credentials File Aligned to USMLE and CGFNS Standards
USCIS expects specialty occupation evidence for NP roles. Compile your CGFNS certificate, USMLE scores if applicable, foreign transcript evaluations, and national certification through AANP or ANCC before any petition is filed, so your employer's attorney can move without delays.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Open NP Roles at Dignity Health
Filter Migrate Mate's job board specifically for Dignity Health Nurse Practitioner openings flagged for visa sponsorship. Applying through roles already screened for sponsorship eligibility saves time you'd otherwise spend confirming it yourself through back-and-forth with recruiters.
Understand the EB-2 NIW Option If You Work in Underserved Areas
NPs employed at a Dignity Health facility serving a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area may qualify for an EB-2 National Interest Waiver without a PERM labor certification. Ask your immigration attorney whether your assigned clinic's designation supports that classification.

Find Nurse Practitioner at Dignity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dignity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioners?
Yes, Dignity Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioners. NP roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require at minimum a Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent graduate-level degree. Sponsorship availability can vary by facility, so confirming directly with the recruiting team for your target location is the practical first step.
How do I apply for Nurse Practitioner jobs at Dignity Health?
Applications go through Dignity Health's careers portal, but roles flagged for visa sponsorship are easier to find by filtering on Migrate Mate's job board, which surfaces Dignity Health NP openings with sponsorship signals already identified. Once you find a relevant posting, apply directly and state your visa status early in the process so the recruiter can loop in HR and immigration counsel from the start.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nurse Practitioner roles at Dignity Health?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant pathway for NP roles at Dignity Health because the position meets the specialty occupation threshold. On the immigrant side, EB-2 and EB-3 classifications are used depending on degree level and job requirements. NPs working at facilities in federally designated shortage areas may also qualify for an EB-2 National Interest Waiver, which bypasses the PERM labor certification process entirely.
What qualifications does Dignity Health expect for Nurse Practitioner roles?
Dignity Health typically requires an MSN or DNP from an accredited program, a current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state where the facility operates, and national certification through AANP or ANCC. California-based roles additionally require a furnishing number for prescriptive authority. Clinical experience in the relevant specialty, such as family practice, acute care, or psychiatric-mental health, is weighted heavily during the interview process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nurse Practitioner at Dignity Health?
If Dignity Health files an H-1B petition in the April cap season, you're looking at an October 1 start date at the earliest, assuming lottery selection. Premium processing through USCIS can accelerate adjudication to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed, but it doesn't affect the cap start date. For Green Card pathways requiring PERM, the DOL audit backlog means the full process from PERM filing to immigrant visa approval often runs several years.
