Verify your NCLEX and credential equivalency early
PeaceHealth requires U.S. RN licensure before you can start. Get your foreign nursing credentials evaluated through a CGFNS-recognized organization and confirm your state board requirements before applying, so licensing delays don't stall your offer.
Target PeaceHealth's understaffed regional facilities
PeaceHealth operates facilities across Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Smaller or rural facilities in their network often have harder-to-fill RN vacancies and are more likely to move quickly on sponsorship-eligible candidates than flagship urban hospitals.
Ask HR directly about EB-3 nursing pathways
Many health systems sponsor RNs through EB-3 immigrant visas, which require PERM labor certification through the DOL. Ask PeaceHealth's HR team upfront whether they initiate PERM for nursing roles, since timelines can run one to two years from filing.
Clarify J-1 waiver obligations before accepting an offer
If you're on a J-1 visa exchange visa with a two-year home residency requirement, PeaceHealth may support a Conrad 30 waiver application. Confirm this before signing an offer, since the waiver process requires a three-year service commitment at the sponsoring facility.
Search PeaceHealth's open RN roles on Migrate Mate
Filtering for PeaceHealth nursing roles on Migrate Mate lets you see which positions are currently open and which visa types the system has historically supported, so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is most likely.
Prepare a specialty-specific clinical portfolio before interviews
PeaceHealth hires RNs across ICU, med-surg, oncology, and labor and delivery. Documenting your clinical hours by specialty, including any charge nurse or preceptor experience, strengthens your application and helps the employer justify sponsorship to USCIS if required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PeaceHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, PeaceHealth has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Nursing roles can qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B requirements when the position requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field. If you hold a BSN or its foreign equivalent, you're generally eligible. Confirm the specific role's requirements with PeaceHealth's HR team during the offer stage, since not every nursing position is structured the same way.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at PeaceHealth?
You can browse and apply for PeaceHealth Registered Nurse openings through Migrate Mate, which lists positions where visa sponsorship is supported. Applications typically require a current RN license in the relevant state, proof of education, and a resume that clearly documents your clinical experience by specialty. PeaceHealth uses an online applicant tracking system, so submitting a complete, tailored application for a specific unit or facility will give you a stronger start than a general inquiry.
Which visa types does PeaceHealth commonly use for Registered Nurse roles?
PeaceHealth has sponsored nurses through H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican RNs), F-1 OPT, and EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. The EB-3 route is common in healthcare because it includes a dedicated nursing subcategory under DOL's Schedule A, which can bypass the standard PERM labor market test and reduce overall processing time compared to other EB-3 cases.
What qualifications does PeaceHealth expect for sponsored Registered Nurse positions?
PeaceHealth generally requires a current, unrestricted RN license in the state where you'll work, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and relevant clinical experience in the specialty you're applying for. For sponsored roles, your foreign nursing credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency, and you'll need to pass the NCLEX if you haven't already. Specialty certifications such as CCRN or OCN can strengthen your candidacy for competitive units.
How do I estimate the timeline from job offer to starting work at PeaceHealth on a visa?
Timeline varies significantly by visa type. An H-1B change of status or transfer can take three to six months with standard USCIS processing, or a few weeks with premium processing. TN visas for Canadian citizens can be approved at the border on the same day. EB-3 immigrant visa cases that go through the full PERM and I-140 process can take one to three years or more depending on your country of birth and current visa backlogs. Build your start date expectations around the specific visa category your situation calls for.
