Obtain NCLEX and State Licensure First
DaVita requires an active RN license in the state where you'll work before any visa petition moves forward. Secure your NCLEX pass and state board approval early, since USCIS won't approve an H-1B for a role you're not yet licensed to perform.
Target Dialysis-Specific Nursing Openings
DaVita's hiring is concentrated in outpatient dialysis and chronic kidney disease care. Filtering your search to nephrology or dialysis RN roles signals a direct skills match and puts you in front of hiring managers already familiar with sponsoring international clinical staff.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Sponsorship-Active Postings
Not every DaVita job listing flags visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to identify which Registered Nurse postings at DaVita are actively open to sponsored candidates, so you're applying where your visa status won't eliminate you at the screening stage.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Timeline for Nurses
If DaVita pursues a Green Card through the EB-3 pathway, the DOL PERM labor certification process typically adds 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives your immigrant petition. Factor this into your planning if your OPT or H-1B timeline is tight.
Clarify Sponsorship Terms During the Offer Stage
Before signing, confirm in writing whether DaVita will cover H-1B filing fees, whether premium processing is available, and who handles the immigration attorney. These terms vary by facility and can significantly affect your start date and out-of-pocket costs.
Leverage OPT or CPT for Clinical Exposure First
If you're on an F-1 visa completing a nursing or healthcare program, pursuing CPT or OPT at a DaVita facility builds your clinical record inside the company. Internal candidates with documented performance have a clearer path to employer-sponsored H-1B support.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DaVita sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, DaVita sponsors H-1B visas for Registered Nurses, and the company has an established track record of filing petitions for clinical roles. Sponsorship is most common for RNs in dialysis and outpatient care settings. You'll need an active state RN license and a qualifying job offer before the petition can be filed with USCIS.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at DaVita?
You can browse and apply for Registered Nurse positions at DaVita through Migrate Mate, which surfaces sponsorship-open postings so you can focus on roles where your visa status is a fit. Applications typically require an active RN license, NCLEX certification, and relevant clinical experience. Dialysis or nephrology backgrounds are particularly competitive for DaVita's core care settings.
Which visa types does DaVita commonly use to sponsor Registered Nurses?
DaVita sponsors Registered Nurses through several pathways, including the H-1B for temporary work authorization, the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican RN graduates, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant petitions for permanent residence. F-1 OPT and CPT are also used for candidates completing nursing programs at accredited U.S. institutions before transitioning to employer-sponsored status.
What qualifications does DaVita expect from Registered Nurse candidates seeking sponsorship?
DaVita expects candidates to hold an active, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing, and NCLEX-RN passage. For sponsored roles, prior experience in dialysis, nephrology, or acute care is a strong differentiator. Some positions also require BLS certification and, for senior clinical roles, specific dialysis training credentials.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take for a Registered Nurse at DaVita?
H-1B processing through USCIS takes three to six months under standard processing, or two to three weeks with premium processing. If DaVita pursues an EB-3 Green Card through PERM, expect the DOL labor certification stage alone to add 12 to 18 months before immigrant petition filing. Starting the process as early as possible after your offer is accepted reduces timeline risk significantly.
