Verify your licensure transfers across states
LifeStance Health operates clinics in dozens of states, each with its own LPC licensure requirements. Confirm your degree and supervised hours meet the specific state board's standards before applying, since visa sponsorship is tied to a licensed, active role.
Target outpatient and telehealth openings strategically
LifeStance Health consistently posts LPC openings in outpatient and telehealth settings. Telehealth roles can offer more scheduling flexibility during the sponsorship process, and the high volume of openings across regions gives you real options if one location moves slowly.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before your final interview
LifeStance Health recruits heavily for LPC roles, so ask directly whether the specific position you're interviewing for is approved for visa sponsorship. Not every clinic location or role type advances sponsorship filings at the same pace.
Understand EB-3 PERM timelines for clinical roles
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, your employer must complete a PERM labor certification with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your petition. This process can take 12 to 24 months, so initiate the conversation with HR well before your work authorization expires.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified LPC openings
Searching for LPC roles with confirmed sponsorship across a large employer like LifeStance Health takes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Licensed Professional Counselor positions at LifeStance Health that support your visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align your supervised hours documentation before filing
If your supervised clinical hours were completed outside the U.S., gather translated transcripts and employer verification letters early. USCIS petitions for healthcare roles often require detailed documentation of professional training, and gaps can slow adjudication significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LifeStance Health sponsor H-1B visas for Licensed Professional Counselors?
LifeStance Health has sponsored visa petitions for Licensed Professional Counselors, but H-1B visa sponsorship for LPC roles depends on whether the specific position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. LPC roles typically require a master's degree in counseling or a related field, which supports the specialty occupation argument. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter for the specific opening you're pursuing.
How do I apply for Licensed Professional Counselor jobs at LifeStance Health?
You can search for Licensed Professional Counselor openings on LifeStance Health's careers page, filtering by state or role type. Migrate Mate also lists LifeStance Health LPC positions with visa sponsorship details surfaced for each role, which saves you from sorting through postings that don't support your work authorization. When you apply, be upfront about your visa status early in the recruiter screening call.
Which visa types does LifeStance Health commonly use for Licensed Professional Counselors?
LifeStance Health has supported LPC candidates through TN visa status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates completing supervised clinical hours, and employment-based Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and how far along you are in the licensure process.
What qualifications does LifeStance Health expect for Licensed Professional Counselor roles?
LifeStance Health typically requires an active LPC license in the state where you'll practice, a master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a closely related clinical field, and completion of the required supervised clinical hours mandated by that state's licensing board. Some postings specify experience with particular populations such as adults, children, or couples, so review each listing carefully before applying.
How do I plan my application timeline around visa sponsorship at LifeStance Health?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you typically have 12 months of work authorization, with a possible 24-month STEM extension if your degree qualifies. TN visa status can be initiated at the port of entry with a valid job offer letter. For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process at the DOL alone can take over a year, so start those conversations with HR as early as possible in your employment.
