Frame your credentials around concrete subcontracting
Lithko specializes in concrete subcontracting, not general construction. Before you apply, reframe your resume and certifications around formwork, concrete placement, and structural slab experience. A superintendent background in general contracting reads differently than one built in concrete-specific commercial work.
Target active Lithko markets in your search
Lithko operates across multiple regions with concentrated activity in the Southeast and Midwest. Focusing your applications on markets where they have ongoing commercial and industrial project pipelines increases your odds of landing a role that's both open and sponsorship-eligible.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet specialty occupation standards, meaning the position must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For Project Superintendent roles, gather documentation showing your engineering, construction management, or architecture degree is directly tied to how Lithko defines the position.
Get your prevailing wage paperwork in order early
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. For construction roles, prevailing wage determinations can be disputed, so make sure your offered compensation aligns with DOL wage levels for your work location before the offer is finalized.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Lithko roles that flag sponsorship
Sorting through job boards to identify which Lithko postings are actually sponsorship-eligible takes time you may not have. Migrate Mate surfaces Project Superintendent roles at Lithko specifically filtered by visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the pathway already exists.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If your petition is subject to the H-1B annual cap, USCIS only accepts registrations once per year with an October 1 start date. When discussing an offer with Lithko, clarify whether you're cap-subject or cap-exempt, and build your expected start date around that filing window.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lithko Contracting sponsor H-1B visas for Project Superintendents?
Yes, Lithko Contracting has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Project Superintendent roles. The H-1B is the primary pathway for skilled construction professionals at this level. If you're targeting a role at Lithko, you should confirm sponsorship eligibility directly with their HR team during the offer stage, since sponsorship decisions are made on a per-role basis.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Superintendent roles at Lithko Contracting?
The H-1B is the most common work visa for Project Superintendent roles at Lithko. Candidates with construction management or engineering degrees who can demonstrate the role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards are the strongest candidates for this pathway. Depending on your background, an O-1A for extraordinary ability or an EB-1C Green Card may also apply if you're moving into a senior leadership track.
What qualifications or experience does Lithko Contracting expect for Project Superintendent roles?
Lithko primarily looks for superintendents with hands-on concrete subcontracting experience, including formwork, slab-on-grade, and post-tension systems. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field strengthens your H-1B eligibility significantly. Field experience managing subcontractors on large commercial or industrial projects is weighted heavily, particularly in markets where Lithko has active job sites.
How do I apply for Project Superintendent jobs at Lithko Contracting?
You can find open Project Superintendent positions at Lithko Contracting through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're only seeing positions relevant to your situation. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight concrete subcontracting experience and include your visa status upfront. Following up directly with Lithko's regional recruiting contacts can also move your application forward faster than applying through a job board alone.
How do I know if an H-1B sponsorship offer from Lithko will be approved in time for my start date?
Timing depends on whether your petition is cap-subject or cap-exempt and whether your employer uses premium processing. USCIS premium processing guarantees a decision within 15 business days. For cap-subject H-1B cases, the earliest possible start date is October 1 of the fiscal year following your lottery selection, so plan for a gap of up to six months between selection and your first day on site.
