How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Manhattan University Visa Sponsorship USA
Target Academic and Administrative Roles
Manhattan University's sponsorship activity is concentrated in faculty, research, and professional staff positions. Focus your search on roles in engineering, sciences, and student services departments, where international hires are most common in higher education institutions.
Understand the H-1B Timeline for Universities
Universities like Manhattan are cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file H-1B petitions at any time of year, not just during the April lottery window. This gives you more flexibility when negotiating a start date with hiring managers.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Manhattan University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Manhattan University sponsors H-1B visas. As a nonprofit educational institution, it qualifies as a cap-exempt employer, which means it can file H-1B petitions year-round without entering the annual lottery. This is a significant advantage for international professionals, as it removes the uncertainty and timing constraints that come with cap-subject H-1B filings at for-profit employers.
Which visa types does Manhattan University sponsor?
Manhattan University sponsors H-1B visas for professional staff and faculty, along with F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for international students pursuing practical training. TN visas are also supported for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. The university does not have a documented track record of sponsoring Green Cards, so long-term permanent residence pathways are less certain.
Which departments or roles at Manhattan University are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Manhattan University is most commonly associated with faculty and research positions in STEM disciplines, particularly engineering and the sciences, as well as professional administrative roles in student affairs, finance, and academic services. Adjunct or part-time positions are less likely to come with sponsorship support, so full-time, benefits-eligible roles are the better target.
How do I find open roles at Manhattan University that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists roles from verified sponsoring employers, including universities like Manhattan, so you can search specifically for positions with a confirmed sponsorship history. Beyond that, Manhattan University posts its openings on its own careers page. When applying, it's worth confirming sponsorship availability directly with HR before advancing far into the interview process.
How do I time my application to Manhattan University around the H-1B process?
Because Manhattan University is cap-exempt, there's no mandatory April filing window to worry about. You can receive a job offer, have the H-1B petition filed, and begin work after USCIS approval at virtually any point in the year. That said, factor in USCIS processing time, standard processing can take several months, so start the conversation about sponsorship as early as possible in your hiring discussions.
