Align your credentials to U.S. clinical standards
Before applying, confirm your medical licensure and board certifications map to U.S. requirements. Marriott's HR teams rely on credentialing verification, so having ECFMG certification or equivalent documentation ready upfront prevents delays at the offer stage.
Target Marriott properties with corporate medical units
Large Marriott convention and resort properties, not boutique hotels, are where Hospitalist roles typically exist. Focus your search on flagship properties and headquarters-adjacent locations where on-site clinical staff support is embedded into facility operations.
Understand H-2B limitations for Hospitalist roles
H-2B is classified as a temporary nonagricultural worker visa with an annual statutory cap. Hospitalist positions requiring specialized clinical training may sit awkwardly under H-2B, so clarify with Marriott's recruiting team which visa classification applies to your specific role before accepting an offer.
Request employer-initiated DOL prevailing wage documentation early
For roles requiring DOL certification, the employer must establish a prevailing wage determination before filing. Ask Marriott's global mobility team whether this step is already in progress for your position so it doesn't stall your start date unexpectedly.
Browse Hospitalist openings on Migrate Mate to filter by sponsorship
Not all Marriott Hospitalist postings explicitly state visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where Marriott has an active sponsorship history for this function, saving time you'd otherwise spend applying to positions that won't move forward.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your start date
Marriott participates in E-Verify as a large federal contractor-adjacent employer. Verify your work authorization documents are consistent across your I-9 and USCIS records before your first day, since E-Verify mismatches can trigger immediate hold periods that delay onboarding.

Find Hospitalist at Marriott International JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Marriott International sponsor H-1B visas for Hospitalists?
Marriott's primary documented sponsorship activity for Hospitalist roles falls under the H-2B category rather than H-1B. H-1B sponsorship is more common for roles classified as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If your Hospitalist position qualifies under that standard, raise H-1B sponsorship directly with Marriott's global mobility team during the offer negotiation stage, as classification can vary by role scope and property.
How do I apply for Hospitalist jobs at Marriott International?
Applications for Hospitalist roles at Marriott International go through Marriott's careers portal, where positions are listed by property and function. You can also find sponsorship-relevant openings through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Marriott Hospitalist roles filtered by visa sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific property type, since a convention-center Hospitalist role has different operational demands than one at a resort property.
Which visa types are commonly used for Hospitalist roles at Marriott International?
Marriott has sponsored Hospitalist roles under H-2B, which covers temporary nonagricultural workers filling roles that are seasonal or intermittent in nature. Depending on the seniority and specialization of the Hospitalist position, H-1B may also apply if the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates with extraordinary clinical credentials could explore O-1A classification independently, though that path is self-petitioned rather than employer-driven.
What qualifications does Marriott International expect for Hospitalist candidates?
Marriott's Hospitalist roles at major properties typically require active U.S. medical licensure in the state where the property is located, board certification in internal medicine or a related specialty, and experience in high-volume or acute care settings. Properties with international guest concentrations may also value multilingual capability. Clinical credentialing, malpractice history review, and background checks are standard steps in the hiring process before any visa filing begins.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline after receiving a Hospitalist offer from Marriott?
Once you have a written offer, Marriott's global mobility or HR team initiates the sponsorship process, which for H-2B involves DOL certification before USCIS filing. H-2B has a statutory cap with specific filing windows, so timing your offer acceptance relative to those windows matters. USCIS premium processing is available for certain classifications and can reduce adjudication time significantly. Build at least three to four months of lead time between offer acceptance and your intended start date to accommodate these steps.
