Frame Technical Fluency in Your Portfolio
MathWorks Product Marketing roles require credible communication with engineers and researchers. Highlight campaign work or product messaging that targeted technical buyers, not general consumers. Generic marketing portfolios won't resonate with their hiring team.
Target Roles Matching Your Visa Timeline
If your OPT expires within six months, prioritize MathWorks openings that specify immediate availability. Their Product Marketing roles vary in start date flexibility, and aligning your application window with their hiring cycle reduces processing risk.
Confirm LCA Filing Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing, verify that your offer letter references the Labor Condition Application process. DOL must certify the LCA before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, and delays at this stage can affect your start date.
Position Your Degree Field Strategically
H-1B specialty occupation approval depends on your degree aligning with the Product Marketing role. A background in computer science, engineering, or business with technical coursework strengthens the nexus argument USCIS evaluators look for in software industry petitions.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Search MathWorks Product Marketing openings on Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has been confirmed through government filing data. This removes guesswork about whether a specific posting is open to sponsored candidates.

Find Product Marketing at MathWorks JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MathWorks sponsor H-1B visas for Product Marketings?
Yes, MathWorks sponsors H-1B visas for Product Marketing roles. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, covering both initial cap-subject filings and extensions. If you're in the H-1B lottery and receive a selection, MathWorks works with immigration counsel to move through the LCA and USCIS petition process. Confirm sponsorship intent early in the interview process, before the offer stage.
How do I apply for Product Marketing jobs at MathWorks?
Applications go through MathWorks' careers portal at mathworks.com/careers. Product Marketing roles typically require a cover letter alongside your resume. Tailoring your application to reflect experience with technical audiences, specifically engineers or scientists, meaningfully improves your candidacy. You can also browse verified MathWorks Product Marketing openings on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered by sponsorship eligibility so you're not guessing about your options.
Which visa types does MathWorks support for Product Marketing roles?
MathWorks supports several visa categories for Product Marketing hires, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, J-1 for eligible exchange visitors, and Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories. The right path depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S. Your recruiter should clarify which categories apply to your situation before you receive an offer.
What qualifications does MathWorks look for in Product Marketing candidates?
MathWorks Product Marketing roles generally require a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, with engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics backgrounds valued most. Practical experience positioning software products to technical buyers carries significant weight. Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, or adjacent simulation and modeling tools is frequently listed as a differentiator. Candidates with experience in go-to-market strategy for developer or engineering tools are well-positioned for mid-level and senior openings.
How do visa processing timelines affect starting a Product Marketing role at MathWorks?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 90-day unemployment clock applies throughout any job transition, so aligning your application and offer timeline carefully matters. For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS portability rules allow you to start working at MathWorks once the transfer petition is received, not just approved. Green Card PERM filings for Product Marketing roles can take 12 to 24 months or longer depending on DOL audit activity, so it's worth clarifying the employer's typical sponsorship sequencing during negotiations.
