Company Overview
MaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well. We are a fabless system-on-chip product company, striving to improve the world’s communication networks for everyone through our highly integrated radio-frequency (RF), analog, digital, and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for access and connectivity, wired and wireless infrastructure, and industrial and multi-market applications. We hire the best people in the industry and engage them in some of the most exciting opportunities that connect the world we live in today. Our growth has come from innovative, bold approaches to solving some of the world’s most challenging communication technology problems in the most efficient and effective manner. MaxLinear began by developing the world’s first high-performance TV tuner chip using standard CMOS process technology. Others said we couldn’t achieve the extremely high-performance requirements using CMOS, but we proved them wrong and achieved enduring global market leadership with our designs. Since then, we’ve developed a full line of products that drive 4G and 5G infrastructure; enable data center, metro and long-haul optical interconnects; bring 10Gbit to the home; power the IoT revolution; and enable robust and reliable communication in harsh industrial environments. Over the years, we’ve expanded through organic growth and through several acquisitions that have perfectly complemented our existing portfolio and enabled us to deliver complete end-to-end solutions in our target markets. One such example was the acquisition of Intel’s Home Gateway Platform Division that added Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Broadband Gateway Processor SoC technology to our connected home portfolio creating a complete and scalable platform of connectivity and access solutions to fully address our customers’ needs. Our headquarters are in Carlsbad, near San Diego, California. We also have major design centers in Irvine and San Jose, California; Valencia, Spain; Bangalore, India; Munich, Germany; Israel; and Singapore. We have approximately 1,200 employees, a substantial majority of whom have engineering degrees and include masters and Ph.D. graduates from many of the premiere universities around the world. Our employees thrive on innovation, outstanding execution, outside-the-box thinking, nimbleness, and collaboration. Together, we form a high-energy business team that is focused on building the best and most innovative products on the market.

Target roles in semiconductor engineering
MaxLinear's core business is broadband and mixed-signal semiconductors. Engineers with backgrounds in RF, analog, digital design, or signal processing align closely with the roles where MaxLinear has a strong history of visa sponsorship.
Understand the Green Card pathway early
MaxLinear has sponsored a significant number of Green Cards relative to its size, particularly EB-2 and EB-3. If permanent residency matters to you, ask about the PERM process and typical timelines during the interview stage.
F-1 OPT is a recognized entry point
MaxLinear sponsors F-1 OPT, which means recent engineering graduates can come on board before H-1B cap season. Timing your application to align with OPT authorization gives you a realistic path into the company.
Canadian and Mexican engineers should flag TN eligibility
MaxLinear sponsors TN visas, a strong option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. TN sponsorship requires no lottery and processes quickly, so make your citizenship clear when applying.
Apply before H-1B registration opens in March
If you need H-1B sponsorship, aim to have an offer in place before March. MaxLinear needs time to prepare your registration, so starting conversations in Q4 of the prior year gives both sides adequate runway.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every job listing signals whether a company will sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, confirm MaxLinear's track record, and focus your search on roles that match your visa type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does MaxLinear sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, MaxLinear sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an active sponsorship track record and has supported H-1B filings across engineering and technical roles. If you're pursuing an H-1B, the strongest positioning is in semiconductor design, hardware engineering, or related technical disciplines where MaxLinear concentrates most of its hiring.
What visa types does MaxLinear sponsor?
MaxLinear sponsors H-1B, Green Card (EB-2 and EB-3), F-1 OPT, and TN visas. The company's sponsorship activity spans both temporary work authorization and permanent residence pathways, which makes it a strong option for international candidates who want a long-term career in the U.S. rather than just an initial work visa.
Which departments or roles at MaxLinear are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at MaxLinear is concentrated in technical and engineering functions, particularly semiconductor design, hardware engineering, embedded systems, and signal processing. These are the core disciplines that drive the company's broadband and mixed-signal product lines. Candidates in these areas have the strongest alignment with roles where sponsorship has historically been offered.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at MaxLinear?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at verified sponsoring companies, including MaxLinear, so you can browse positions filtered by visa type and sponsorship history. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to listings where sponsorship status is unclear. Check Migrate Mate regularly, as MaxLinear's hiring activity in specialized engineering roles can move quickly.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by MaxLinear?
The most effective approach is to align your application with MaxLinear's core technical needs in semiconductors, broadband hardware, and RF or analog engineering. Demonstrating deep domain expertise in these areas matters more than a broad skill set. If you're on F-1 OPT, apply early so there's time to plan an H-1B registration. For Canadian or Mexican nationals, raising TN eligibility upfront can accelerate the process significantly.
