Align Your Credentials with Healthcare Admin Requirements
Norton Healthcare hires administrative staff who understand clinical workflows, not just general office tasks. Highlight experience with electronic health records, HIPAA compliance, or medical scheduling software on your resume before you apply.
Target Open Roles Across Norton's System Locations
Norton operates hospitals, outpatient clinics, and specialty centers throughout the Louisville area. Applying across multiple facility types increases your chances, since hiring decisions for administrative roles are often made at the department level rather than centrally.
Confirm Your OPT Authorization Covers Administrative Roles
F-1 OPT requires that your job directly relates to your degree field. If your degree is in health administration, business, or a related area, an administrative assistant role at a healthcare employer generally qualifies. Confirm the connection is clear in your application materials.
Understand How TN Status Works for This Role
TN visas cover specific occupations listed under USMCA. Administrative assistant roles typically don't fall under a named TN category, so if Norton has sponsored TN for this function, the underlying job duties likely align with a qualifying designation. Clarify the exact job title before assuming TN applies.
Ask About PERM Timing During the Offer Stage
If you're targeting an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through Norton, PERM labor certification must be initiated by your employer through DOL. Administrative roles can qualify under EB-3 for skilled workers. Ask HR directly whether they've run PERM for similar positions and what their typical timeline looks like.

Find Administrative Assistant at Norton Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Norton Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
Administrative assistant roles generally don't qualify for H-1B sponsorship because they don't typically meet the specialty occupation requirement, which demands a position where a specific bachelor's degree is the minimum entry requirement. Norton Healthcare's sponsorship for administrative functions tends to run through employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 or EB-3, or through F-1 OPT and TN status where the role and degree field align.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at Norton Healthcare?
Applications go through Norton Healthcare's careers portal, where you can filter by department and location across their Louisville-area facilities. When you apply, be direct about your visa status in any sponsorship question rather than leaving it blank. Migrate Mate also lists verified Norton Healthcare administrative openings filtered by visa type, which lets you confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in a full application.
Which visa types does Norton Healthcare commonly use for Administrative Assistant roles?
For administrative assistant positions, Norton Healthcare's sponsorship activity centers on F-1 OPT, TN status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 CPT can apply if you're completing a degree program with a required work component. Each pathway has different employer filing obligations, so confirm with HR which ones Norton actively supports for the specific role you're targeting.
What qualifications does Norton Healthcare expect for Administrative Assistant positions?
Norton Healthcare administrative roles within a clinical environment typically require strong organizational skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with scheduling or records management software. A degree in health administration, business, or a related field strengthens your profile, particularly if you're relying on F-1 OPT, where your job must relate to your degree. Prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting, even in a support capacity, carries real weight in their hiring process.
How do I handle visa timing when pursuing an Administrative Assistant role at Norton Healthcare?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 12 months of work authorization after graduation, with a 60-day grace period if your employment ends. Start your Norton Healthcare application well before your OPT expires to leave room for onboarding and, if applicable, for your employer to initiate a Green Card process. For EB-3 sponsorship through PERM, the DOL review alone can take several months, so raising the timeline question early in the offer stage is important.
