Get your CGFNS certification before applying
Norton Healthcare, like most U.S. hospital systems, requires internationally educated nurses to hold CGFNS certification or pass NCLEX-RN before an immigrant visa petition moves forward. Starting this process early prevents delays after an offer is made.
Target units with persistent open headcount
Norton Healthcare consistently posts Registered Nurse openings across its hospital campuses and specialty service lines. Applying to high-demand units like med-surg, ICU, and emergency gives you the best chance of finding a hiring manager motivated to sponsor.
Understand the EB-3 PERM timeline before accepting an offer
Most healthcare employers, including Norton, sponsor RNs through the EB-3 pathway, which requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL. That process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the petition, so set your expectations accordingly.
Confirm your visa category fits the sponsorship Norton offers
Norton Healthcare sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas alongside F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN status. If you hold a Canadian or Mexican nursing credential, TN status can bridge you into a permanent role while EB-3 processing runs in parallel.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open RN roles by sponsorship type
Searching broad job boards buries visa-sponsored postings under hundreds of non-sponsoring listings. Migrate Mate lets you filter Norton Healthcare's Registered Nurse openings specifically by visa type, so you only spend time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Ask HR to clarify the offer letter's sponsorship language before signing
Some hospital offers reference sponsorship support without specifying which visa category or who covers filing fees. Before signing, confirm with Norton's HR or immigration team whether the EB-3 PERM petition and USCIS filing costs are employer-paid.

Find Registered Nurse at Norton Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Norton Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Norton Healthcare's Registered Nurse sponsorship activity is concentrated in immigrant visa pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than the H-1B. Registered Nursing is classified as a specialty occupation under H-1B rules, but most healthcare employers prefer the EB-3 route for nurses because it leads directly to a Green Card and avoids the annual H-1B lottery.
Which visa types are commonly used for Registered Nurse roles at Norton Healthcare?
Norton Healthcare sponsors Registered Nurses through EB-3 immigrant visas most frequently, with EB-2 used in select cases. For nurses already in the U.S., F-1 OPT and CPT provide a bridge during training and early employment. Canadian and Mexican nurses may qualify for TN status, which can be secured quickly at the border or port of entry while longer-term immigrant visa processing runs concurrently.
What qualifications and experience does Norton Healthcare expect for Registered Nurse positions?
Norton Healthcare typically requires an active Kentucky RN license or eligibility for licensure by endorsement, and most postings specify BLS certification at minimum. Specialty units such as ICU or emergency commonly require ACLS and one to two years of acute care experience. Internationally educated nurses will also need NCLEX-RN passage and, in most cases, a CGFNS credential evaluation before the onboarding process can proceed.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Norton Healthcare?
You can browse current Registered Nurse openings at Norton Healthcare through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can focus on roles where immigrant or nonimmigrant sponsorship is confirmed. Once you identify a position, apply directly through Norton's career portal and indicate your work authorization needs clearly in the application. Following up with the recruiting team after applying is standard practice at large health systems.
How do I estimate the timeline for Norton Healthcare to complete my visa sponsorship as an RN?
If Norton sponsors you through the EB-3 pathway, expect the DOL PERM labor certification alone to take 12 to 18 months, followed by a USCIS I-140 petition. If you're from a country with a backlogged priority date, additional wait time applies before you can adjust status or receive an immigrant visa. Starting NCLEX-RN and CGFNS paperwork before you receive a job offer compresses the overall timeline significantly.
