Target technical and scientific roles
Omya's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical, scientific, and engineering disciplines tied to its minerals business. Focus your search on roles in geology, chemical engineering, process engineering, and materials science to align with where sponsorship is most likely.
Understand the full Green Card pathway
Omya has supported both H-1B and Green Card sponsorship for qualified employees. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, ask recruiters directly about their EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history during the interview process.
Leverage OPT and CPT as your entry point
Omya sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which can be a strategic way to get your foot in the door. Internship or practical training roles in their operations or R&D teams are worth pursuing as a path toward full-time sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to verify current openings
Omya's sponsorship activity tends to be selective. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus only on roles where Omya has an active track record, saving you time on speculative applications.
Tailor your application to mining and minerals expertise
Omya operates in a highly specialized industry. Employers in natural resources value deep technical knowledge. Highlight any experience with mineral processing, industrial chemistry, or supply chain operations in your resume and cover letter to stand out.
Ask about TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Omya sponsors TN visas, which can be a faster alternative to H-1B for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying occupations. If you hold citizenship from either country, confirm your role qualifies under USMCA occupation categories before applying.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Omya sponsor H-1B visas?

The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for qualified international professionals, particularly in technical and engineering roles tied to its mining and minerals operations. If you're applying for a specialty occupation role, it's worth confirming H-1B sponsorship availability directly with Omya's hiring team during the recruitment process.
What visa types does Omya sponsor?
Omya sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas. This breadth makes Omya a viable option for international candidates at different stages, from students on practical training to experienced professionals seeking permanent residency pathways.
Which roles at Omya are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Omya is most commonly associated with technical, scientific, and engineering positions, which reflect the company's core business in calcium carbonate and specialty minerals. Roles in process engineering, materials science, geology, R&D, and operations management are strong candidates. How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Omya?
The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by verified sponsorship history so you can confirm Omya is actively sponsoring before applying. From there, apply directly through Omya's careers portal and use your cover letter to explicitly state your visa type and work authorization needs, which helps recruiters route your application correctly.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting Omya for H-1B sponsorship?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, timing is critical. H-1B petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so you'll want to have an offer in place by February or March at the latest. Start your Omya job search six to nine months in advance, make your visa situation clear early in conversations with recruiters, and confirm the company's willingness to sponsor before investing significant time in the process.
