BASIC FUNCTION
Based at our Arizona production facility, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant processing equipment.
This role supports a high-performing team operating in a mineral transformation environment producing materials for industrial, food-grade, and pharmaceutical applications. The position requires strong mechanical expertise, versatility, and hands-on experience across rotating equipment, pneumatic systems, and packaging operations within a heavy industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment across the plant, including conveyors, blowers, gearboxes, centrifuges, and material handling systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Execute advanced mechanical rebuilds and equipment retrofits, including alignment, installation, and fabrication work
- Support operations involving pneumatic conveying systems, packaging equipment, and bulk material processing
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to assemble and disassemble equipment
- Use the plant maintenance system to manage work orders, track progress, and document completed work accurately
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure parts availability
- Support external contractors and equipment suppliers during inspections, repairs, and maintenance projects
- Safely operate mobile equipment and lifting devices in accordance with site procedures

- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all times

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

- Relevant certifications in industrial maintenance, millwright, or similar trades considered an asset
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Experience in heavy industrial environments such as mining, mineral processing, cement, or manufacturing preferred
- Proven experience with pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and bulk material handling
- Experience with packaging equipment and automated production lines is an asset
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and repair capabilities
- Experience in maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, and drive systems
