Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding OT Jobs at Orlando Health Jobs
Get your NBCOT certification before applying
Orlando Health requires OTs to hold or be eligible for Florida state licensure, which starts with passing the NBCOT exam. Completing this before you apply removes the biggest credentialing bottleneck employers cite when hesitating on sponsorship.
Target rehab and acute care postings directly
Orlando Health fills OT roles across inpatient rehab, acute care, and outpatient settings. Focusing your applications on units with consistent patient volume, like neurology or orthopedics, increases your odds of landing a position with long-term sponsorship continuity.
Clarify your visa category early in interviews
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm with the recruiter whether the role qualifies for STEM OPT extension. Occupational therapy may qualify depending on how Orlando Health classifies the position, which directly affects how much runway you have before H-1B filing.
Browse OT roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Orlando Health OT openings by visa sponsorship type so you're only spending time on positions where your work authorization is explicitly supported, not assumed.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-2 and EB-3 paths
If Orlando Health offers a Green Card pathway, PERM recruitment and DOL processing can take a year or more before USCIS even sees the petition. Ask HR whether the sponsorship offer includes PERM support and at what point in employment it typically begins.
Submit your credential evaluation well in advance
International OT graduates from non-U.S. programs need a foreign credential evaluation through an approved body before USCIS or DOL will accept the petition. Ordering this early avoids delays that can push back your H-1B or PERM filing timeline by months.

Find OT at Orlando Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Orlando Health sponsor H-1B visas for OTs?
Yes, Orlando Health sponsors H-1B visas for occupational therapists. OT roles typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require at minimum a master's degree in occupational therapy. You'll need to have NBCOT certification and meet Florida licensure requirements for the petition to move forward.
How do I apply for OT jobs at Orlando Health?
You can search and apply through Orlando Health's careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for OT openings at Orlando Health where visa sponsorship is confirmed. When applying, flag your work authorization status clearly in your application so recruiters can route your file to the right HR team from the start.
Which visa types does Orlando Health commonly use for OT hires?
Orlando Health sponsors OTs through H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 for clinical exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Orlando Health expect for sponsored OT roles?
At minimum, Orlando Health requires a master's degree in occupational therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program, NBCOT certification, and eligibility for Florida licensure. Specialized experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or pediatrics strengthens your candidacy significantly. Some postings specify preferred certifications like hand therapy or neurorehabilitation credentials.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for OT roles at Orlando Health?
For H-1B, your employer files in April for an October 1 start date, so timing your offer accordingly matters. TN status can be obtained at the port of entry for eligible nationals. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically runs one to two years from initiation before reaching USCIS adjudication, and Orlando Health generally begins that process after a period of employment.
