Align your resume to consulting deliverables
Osborn Engineering operates in consulting, so frame your software experience around client outcomes, project delivery, and cross-functional collaboration rather than internal product work. Consulting firms review resumes differently than product companies.
Confirm OPT or CPT eligibility before applying
If you're on F-1 status, verify your OPT start date and remaining authorization window before submitting applications. Osborn Engineering sponsors both OPT and CPT, but your academic calendar and program end date directly affect which authorization type applies.
Ask about H-1B sponsorship during initial recruiter calls
Osborn Engineering has sponsored H-1B petitions for Software Engineers, so raise sponsorship directly with the recruiter before your first technical round. Ask whether the specific team or project has budget approved for H-1B filing, not just whether the company sponsors generally.
Search for open roles using Migrate Mate
Osborn Engineering posts Software Engineer openings across different practice areas. Use Migrate Mate to filter current listings by visa sponsorship type so you're only applying to roles where your authorization status is already a confirmed fit.
Time your application around H-1B cap season
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date for approved petitions. If you're targeting a full-time offer that requires H-1B sponsorship, start your application process at Osborn Engineering by late fall to allow enough lead time for petition preparation.

Find Software Engineer at Osborn Engineering JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Osborn Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Osborn Engineering sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers. The company operates in consulting and professional services, and technical roles in this sector commonly require specialty occupation sponsorship. If you receive an offer, confirm with HR which fiscal year's H-1B cap the petition targets and whether premium processing is available for your role.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Osborn Engineering?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer roles at Osborn Engineering through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. When you reach the recruiter screen, be direct about your visa status and timeline so the hiring team can plan petition filing accordingly.
Which visa types does Osborn Engineering support for Software Engineers?
Osborn Engineering sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Software Engineers. The right visa type depends on your citizenship and current status. F-1 students often start on CPT or OPT before transitioning to H-1B. Canadian citizens may use TN as a faster, lottery-exempt alternative to H-1B.
What qualifications does Osborn Engineering expect for Software Engineer roles?
Osborn Engineering typically expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, this degree requirement is significant because USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific degree in a relevant field must be a genuine prerequisite for the position.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Osborn Engineering?
USCIS H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your OPT authorization must bridge the gap until October 1. STEM OPT extension provides up to 24 months of additional work authorization, which gives you a larger window to secure an H-1B selection. Coordinate your offer timeline with Osborn Engineering's HR team early.
