Align your credentials to HRIS expertise
Paylocity hires HR professionals who understand human capital management platforms, not just generalist functions. Frame your resume around system administration, benefits configuration, or workforce analytics to match the technical depth their HR roles require.
Target roles tied to payroll compliance
Paylocity sits at the intersection of HR and accounting, so roles touching payroll compliance, tax reporting, or multi-state labor law carry stronger sponsorship precedent. Prioritize job postings that list FLSA, ACA, or state wage law experience as requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles
Not every Paylocity HR posting is open to sponsorship candidates. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where Paylocity has an active sponsorship track record, so you're not spending application effort on positions that won't move forward for visa holders.
Start OPT conversations before your authorization ends
F-1 OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization, with a 60-day grace period after it expires. If you're on OPT at Paylocity and targeting H-1B sponsorship, your employer needs lead time to prepare the LCA filing with DOL before cap registration opens each March.
Confirm the PERM pathway during offer negotiations
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Paylocity must conduct a PERM labor market test through DOL before filing your immigrant petition. Clarify whether the specific HR role you're offered has a clearly defined job description, because PERM requires an exact duties match throughout the process.
Verify I-9 requirements match your visa category
Paylocity uses E-Verify for employment eligibility confirmation. Before your start date, confirm that your visa category and authorized period are correctly reflected in your I-94 record, since discrepancies between your status and E-Verify results can delay or complicate onboarding.

Find Human Resources at Paylocity JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Paylocity sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources roles?
Yes, Paylocity sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Human Resources positions. HR roles that involve specialized knowledge of HCM systems, payroll compliance, or benefits administration tend to meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires. Roles that are primarily administrative or lack a degree requirement in a specific field can be harder to support under H-1B, so the job description matters significantly.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Paylocity?
You can browse and apply for Paylocity HR openings directly through their careers portal. To identify which postings are realistically open to visa sponsorship candidates, Migrate Mate filters Paylocity listings by sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles that won't support a visa filing. Tailor your application to highlight HCM platform experience and any compliance-focused HR work.
Which visa types does Paylocity commonly use for Human Resources professionals?
Paylocity sponsors several visa categories for HR roles, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying HR or business programs, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible HR classifications. For longer-term pathways, Paylocity also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Paylocity expect for sponsored Human Resources roles?
Paylocity typically looks for HR professionals with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in HCM platforms such as their own Paylocity product or comparable systems. Roles tied to payroll, benefits compliance, or HR operations often require familiarity with federal and state employment law. PHR or SHRM-CP certifications strengthen your profile for mid-level positions.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a Paylocity HR role?
H-1B cap-subject sponsorship follows a fixed annual cycle. USCIS opens registration in March, and selected petitions can have an October 1 start date at the earliest. Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL first, which typically takes seven business days under standard processing. If you need an earlier start date, premium processing through USCIS can adjudicate the petition within 15 business days for an additional fee.
