Target roles that align with Personalis's core technology
Personalis works on advanced genomic sequencing and cancer immunotherapy platforms. Roles in bioinformatics, software engineering, and molecular biology are most likely to require the specialized expertise that drives visa sponsorship decisions at a precision oncology company.
Understand which visa types Personalis actively files
Personalis sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. If you hold a TN-eligible nationality or are currently on OPT, you may have a faster path to an offer since these pathways carry fewer administrative hurdles than a new H-1B petition.
Time your OPT applications carefully
If you're on F-1 OPT, Personalis's sponsorship of that status signals it's comfortable onboarding international candidates before H-1B filing. Applying before your OPT window narrows gives the company time to file your H-1B petition in the next available lottery cycle.
Emphasize deep technical specialization in your application
Personalis operates in a highly specialized area of precision medicine. Candidates who can demonstrate specific expertise in cancer genomics, NGS data pipelines, or computational oncology are far more likely to clear the specialty occupation bar required for H-1B sponsorship.
Research open roles that match your visa type before applying
Not every Personalis role will come with sponsorship. Browse verified job listings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces confirmed sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify positions actively open to international candidates in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Raise sponsorship early but frame it around your value
Personalis is a focused clinical-stage company, so hiring decisions are deliberate. When discussing sponsorship, lead with how your specialized background in genomics or precision oncology fills a specific gap, then confirm the visa type you need. This frames the conversation around contribution, not logistics.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Personalis sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Personalis sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for international candidates, particularly in technical and scientific roles tied to its genomic sequencing and precision oncology work. While sponsorship volume is modest relative to large pharmaceutical employers, Personalis consistently supports international hires in roles requiring specialized expertise.
Which visa types does Personalis sponsor?
Personalis sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. This range means the company is equipped to support international candidates at multiple career stages, from students completing degrees to experienced professionals entering on TN status. The presence of OPT and CPT sponsorship also suggests Personalis actively recruits from university pipelines.
Which departments or roles at Personalis are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Given Personalis's focus on advanced cancer genomics and precision oncology diagnostics, sponsorship is most common in technical and scientific functions. Roles in bioinformatics, computational biology, software engineering, molecular biology, and clinical research are the strongest candidates. These positions typically require specialized graduate-level qualifications that meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find open jobs at Personalis that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find Personalis jobs confirmed to include visa sponsorship. The platform aggregates roles from verified sponsors and lets you filter by visa type, so you can quickly identify positions at Personalis that match your H-1B, OPT, or TN status without sifting through listings that don't sponsor international applicants.
How do I approach the application process at Personalis as an international candidate?
Start by identifying roles that closely match your technical background in genomics, oncology, or related life sciences disciplines. Confirm your visa type early in the recruiter conversation so the team can assess timelines. If you're on OPT, applying well before your authorization expires gives Personalis adequate runway to file an H-1B petition in the next lottery cycle.
