Align your credentials with IATF standards
Automotive manufacturers like Piston prioritize candidates familiar with IATF 16949 quality standards and lean manufacturing principles. Document any formal training or certifications in these areas before applying, as they directly strengthen your specialty occupation case for H-1B or EB classification.
Target roles requiring a specific technical degree
H-1B eligibility hinges on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Manufacturing Engineer and Process Engineer titles at automotive suppliers are defensible; general assembler or technician roles typically are not. Focus your applications on positions that explicitly require a relevant engineering or technical bachelor's degree.
Search Piston Automotive openings through Migrate Mate
Filter for Piston Automotive's Manufacturing roles on Migrate Mate to see only positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is off the table and helps you prioritize your outreach strategically.
Clarify sponsorship scope during initial interviews
Piston Automotive sponsors multiple visa types including TN, F-1 OPT, and H-1B. Ask early which pathway applies to your role and whether the company uses in-house immigration counsel or outside firms, since that affects your filing timeline and your point of contact during the process.
Plan your OPT start date around production hiring cycles
Automotive manufacturers typically ramp hiring ahead of model-year production schedules. If you're on F-1 OPT, time your application so your authorization start date aligns with these cycles. USCIS recommends filing your EAD application at least 90 days before your program end date to avoid gaps.
Prepare for PERM if targeting a Green Card pathway
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires your employer to complete DOL's PERM labor certification before filing with USCIS. For Manufacturing roles, PERM job requirements must match your actual duties exactly. Work with your employer's immigration team to ensure the job description filed with DOL reflects what you genuinely do day-to-day.

Find Manufacturing at Piston Automotive JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Piston Automotive sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Piston Automotive sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Manufacturing positions. Eligible roles are typically those requiring a specific bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related technical field, meeting USCIS's specialty occupation definition. Production or assembly roles that don't require a degree in a specific discipline are generally not H-1B eligible, so focus your search on engineering and process-oriented titles.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Piston Automotive?
Browse Piston Automotive's open Manufacturing roles on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only positions where visa sponsorship is available. Apply directly through the job listing, and tailor your resume to highlight automotive manufacturing experience, relevant certifications such as IATF 16949 or Six Sigma, and any prior work with U.S. employers. Mention your visa status and intended sponsorship pathway clearly in your application materials.
Which visa types does Piston Automotive commonly use for Manufacturing positions?
Piston Automotive sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Manufacturing roles. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT are well-suited for students and recent graduates entering manufacturing or quality engineering functions before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Piston Automotive expect for sponsored Manufacturing roles?
Sponsored Manufacturing roles at Piston Automotive typically require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or automotive engineering. Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, quality systems such as IATF 16949 or APQP, and production floor environments strengthens your candidacy significantly. Roles involving process development, tooling, or supplier quality management are among the most commonly sponsored within automotive tier suppliers like Piston.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when targeting a Manufacturing role at Piston Automotive?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file during the April cap-subject filing window for an October 1 start date, so offers need to be secured well before March. For TN and F-1 OPT transitions, timelines are more flexible. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process, so confirm your employer's intent and timeline early in the offer negotiation.
