INTRODUCTION
Premier Early Childhood Education Partners is a private early childhood education organization seeking a Traveling Painter! This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and dependable professional who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining safe, welcoming environments for children and staff across our nationwide network of childcare centers.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, and priming walls and other surfaces.
- Apply paint, coatings, and finishes to walls, trim, doors, and additional surfaces throughout daycare facilities.
- Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures with appropriate coverings prior to painting.
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines while on job sites.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas appropriate for childcare environments.
- Ensure paints and materials are safely stored and proper ventilation is maintained during application.
- Work under the direction of the Travelling Painter Lead to complete assigned projects.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and daily cleanup at project locations.
- Maintain professionalism and positive communication while working around daycare staff and administrators.
- Assist with loading and unloading tools, equipment, and materials when traveling between facilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ year of professional painting experience preferred.
- Experience working in commercial environments such as schools, daycare facilities, or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Candidates must be willing to travel regularly and have the ability to work evening or weekend hours when centers are closed.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, based on experience
TRAVEL:
This role requires 90–100% travel across our nationwide network of childcare centers, including frequent overnight stays. Most painting work will occur after hours (typically after 6:00 PM) to minimize disruption to daily center operations.
Candidates must live within driving distance of Chicago O’Hare International Airport to allow for flexibility and accessibility when traveling on short notice.
