Align your credentials to utility consulting
Qualus projects center on transmission, distribution, and substation work. Before applying, make sure your resume explicitly frames your experience around power systems deliverables rather than general electrical engineering, since consulting roles require demonstrable client-facing technical output.
Verify your PE license portability early
Many Qualus engineering roles require or strongly prefer a Professional Engineer license. If your PE is issued in one state, confirm reciprocity with the states where Qualus has active project offices before your application, so licensure gaps don't slow an offer.
Target open roles by project type not location
Qualus staffs Electrical Engineers across a wide geographic footprint tied to client utility projects. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Qualus Electrical Engineer postings by project discipline, so you're applying to roles that match your power systems specialty rather than just your preferred city.
Understand how TN status fits your timeline
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, the TN visa category covers Electrical Engineers and can be issued at the border without USCIS adjudication. This bypasses H-1B cap uncertainty and fits Qualus's need to onboard engineers quickly for active utility contracts.
Ask about LCA prevailing wage during offer negotiations
For H-1B sponsorship, Qualus must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your role and work location. If you're placed on client sites in different regions, confirm which location's wage level applies before signing.
Prepare for PERM timing if targeting a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through PERM requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers are available. At a project-based consulting firm like Qualus, PERM recruitment timelines often depend on project backlog and internal headcount needs, so raise the conversation during the offer stage, not after onboarding.

Does Qualus sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Yes, Qualus sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers. The firm operates in power systems and grid infrastructure consulting, where specialized international engineering talent supports active client projects. Sponsorship decisions are typically tied to role criticality and project demand, so candidates with directly relevant power systems experience are best positioned to receive an offer that includes H-1B filing.
Which visa types does Qualus commonly use for Electrical Engineer roles?
Qualus has sponsored Electrical Engineers through H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates in power engineering programs. TN is a strong option for Canadian and Mexican engineers given its speed and cap-exempt status. EB-2 and EB-3 become relevant for engineers targeting long-term permanent residence through employer sponsorship.
What qualifications does Qualus expect for Electrical Engineer positions?
Qualus Electrical Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power systems, transmission, distribution, or substation design. Many roles prefer or require a Professional Engineer license. Relevant utility or energy consulting experience strengthens your application significantly, as client-facing project delivery is central to how Qualus staffs its engineering teams.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Qualus?
You can find and apply for Electrical Engineer positions at Qualus through Migrate Mate, which filters open roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. Qualus posts roles across multiple U.S. regions tied to utility client projects, so searching by discipline rather than location gives you a broader view of what's currently open and actively being hired for.
How do I plan my timeline if Qualus sponsors my H-1B as a new graduate?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer must file your H-1B petition by April 1 for an October 1 start, which is the earliest a cap-subject H-1B can take effect. USCIS runs an annual lottery in March, so your OPT needs to cover the gap until October. If your OPT expires before October and you're selected, a cap-gap extension automatically covers the period between OPT expiration and your H-1B start date.
