Align your credentials to utility consulting standards
Qualus operates in power systems consulting, so certifications like NETA or NICET carry real weight alongside your degree. Before applying, verify your credentials are documented in English and translated if necessary for USCIS petition support.
Target field service and substation roles specifically
Qualus posts Electrical Technician openings tied to substation testing, commissioning, and protection relay work. Filtering applications to these technical tracks improves your odds because they map directly to specialty occupation criteria under H-1B.
Browse open Electrical Technician roles through Migrate Mate
Qualus posts Electrical Technician positions across multiple regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Qualus openings that include visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on listings that won't move forward for international candidates.
Clarify OPT and CPT eligibility early in conversations
If you're on F-1 status, confirm with Qualus recruiters whether the specific role qualifies for CPT or OPT before your first interview. Consulting firms with field rotations sometimes have STEM OPT compliance requirements that affect how quickly you can start.
Understand the LCA filing precedes your H-1B petition
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask your Qualus HR contact for an estimated LCA filing date so you can plan your start date around the certification window.
Prepare for prevailing wage documentation in your offer
DOL prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B and PERM-based Green Card filings. Review your offer letter carefully to confirm the wage level aligns with the DOL wage determination for your job location, since Qualus places technicians across varied regional markets.

Does Qualus sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Technicians?
Yes, Qualus sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Technicians. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirements in electrical engineering or a closely related technical field. Your employer will need to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS, so factor that into your timeline when negotiating a start date.
How do I apply for Electrical Technician jobs at Qualus?
You can find and apply for Electrical Technician positions at Qualus through Migrate Mate, which filters Qualus listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're only seeing roles open to international candidates. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight hands-on experience with power systems, substation testing, or protection relay work, since those skills align directly with Qualus's consulting focus.
Which visa types does Qualus commonly use for Electrical Technician roles?
Qualus sponsors multiple visa types for Electrical Technicians, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM. What qualifications does Qualus expect for sponsored Electrical Technician roles?
Qualus typically looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology, along with hands-on experience in areas like substation commissioning, NETA testing, or protection systems. Industry certifications such as NICET or NETA Level II or III strengthen your application. For H-1B sponsorship, your degree must correspond directly to the role's duties to satisfy the specialty occupation requirement under USCIS guidelines.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Qualus as an Electrical Technician?
Timeline depends on your visa type. For H-1B, the DOL LCA certification takes roughly seven business days, followed by USCIS processing that can range from a few weeks with premium processing to several months without it. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS typically takes three to five months, so apply early. TN status for Canadians can often be obtained at the border on the day of travel if your documents are in order.
