- Develop infrastructure (frontend & backend) that empowers product engineers to rapidly ship delightful user experiences.
- Design and build durable, well-crafted interfaces between the Agent and internal systems, as well as external agentic systems (MCP).
Required Skills And Experience
- 5+ years professional experience in building backend services, systems and platforms.
- Someone who values simplicity and pragmatism—you think radically but ship incrementally.
- Self-directed and comfortable working autonomously.
- Collaborative and team-oriented with a strong sense of shared ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across the full-stack.
- Experience building AI powered tooling or products.
- Experience with collaborative editing technologies such as Operational Transforms (OT), CRDTs, or the inner workings of Git.

Align your portfolio to Replit's stack
Replit's engineering work centers on browser-based IDEs, language runtimes, and AI-assisted coding tools. Before applying, build or highlight projects involving compilers, sandboxed execution environments, or LLM integrations to signal direct relevance.
Confirm specialty occupation fit early
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for roles where the degree requirement isn't clearly defined. For a Replit Software Engineer position, document how your specific computer science or engineering degree connects directly to the technical scope of the role.
Target roles with infrastructure or AI scope
Replit's open Software Engineer positions span areas like distributed systems, AI tooling, and developer experience. Roles with deep technical specificity are easier for employers to support through H-1B sponsorship because the specialty occupation threshold is clearer.
Raise sponsorship timing before the offer stage
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with USCIS opening registration in March for an October 1 start date. Clarifying your visa timeline during the final interview round prevents misaligned expectations after an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Replit's open roles
Replit posts Software Engineer openings across multiple channels, and not all are tagged for sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified visa-sponsoring roles at Replit so you're applying to positions where H-1B support is already confirmed.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage requirements
Before Replit files your H-1B petition, it must submit a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered wage meets DOL prevailing wage levels for your job title and work location. Understanding this step helps you interpret compensation discussions accurately.

Find Software Engineer at Replit JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Replit sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Replit has sponsored H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The company operates in the technology sector where H-1B sponsorship is common for specialized engineering positions. Sponsorship availability can vary by role and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with the recruiter during the interview process is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types are commonly used for Software Engineer roles at Replit?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for Software Engineer positions at technology companies like Replit, as it covers specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, you can work at Replit while your employer files your H-1B petition before your OPT expires, subject to the annual cap and lottery.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Software Engineer roles at Replit?
Replit's Software Engineer roles typically require a strong foundation in systems programming, distributed computing, or AI and machine learning tooling, reflecting the company's focus on browser-based IDEs and developer infrastructure. A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a closely related field is standard, and hands-on experience with compilers, language runtimes, or cloud-native architectures is frequently referenced in their job descriptions.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Replit?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer positions at Replit through Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified visa-sponsoring roles so you're not guessing whether H-1B support is available. When applying, tailor your resume to Replit's technical focus areas, which include developer tooling, AI-assisted coding, and cloud infrastructure, and be prepared to discuss your visa status early in the recruiter screening.
What is the timeline for H-1B sponsorship if I receive a Software Engineer offer from Replit?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from Replit outside that window, your employer may be able to file a cap-exempt petition if you qualify, or you may need to bridge your status on OPT or another visa. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to around 15 business days, which matters if your current authorization has a near-term expiration.
