Align your portfolio to platform-scale data problems
Roblox's analytics stack supports millions of concurrent users generating event data in real time. Before applying, build out or document experience with high-volume pipelines, dbt modeling, or behavioral analytics at scale, the kinds of problems their team is actively solving.
Verify your visa type fits Roblox's sponsored categories
Roblox sponsors H-1B, E-3, H-1B1, TN, and F-1 OPT, among others. Confirm your nationality and status map to one of these before investing time in the process. Australian citizens, for example, qualify for the E-3, which skips the H-1B lottery entirely.
Time your F-1 OPT application with Roblox's hiring cycles
If you're on F-1 OPT, the 60-day grace period leaves little room for delays. Target Roblox's analytics roles early in your final semester so an offer and STEM OPT extension filing can overlap with your graduation timeline without gaps in work authorization.
Prepare a degree equivalency letter before your technical interview
Analytics Engineer roles at Roblox typically require a degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., have a credential evaluation completed through NACES before USCIS or your employer needs to verify specialty occupation status.
Understand how the LCA shapes your offer negotiation
Before Roblox files your H-1B or E-3 petition, your employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, locking in a prevailing wage for your role and location. Knowing this wage floor in advance helps you negotiate an offer that satisfies DOL requirements from day one.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Analytics Engineer openings at Roblox move quickly and not all listings flag sponsorship clearly. Use Migrate Mate to browse current Roblox roles filtered by your specific visa category, so you're applying to positions the company is actively willing to sponsor.

The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field like computer science, data engineering, or statistics. Because H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, timing your application cycle and having a backup visa option ready is worth planning for in advance.
Which visa types does Roblox commonly use for Analytics Engineer roles?
Roblox sponsors several visa categories for Analytics Engineers, including H-1B, E-3, H-1B1, TN, and F-1 OPT. Australian citizens benefit from the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN. F-1 graduates often start on OPT and transition to a long-term visa category through employer sponsorship.
What qualifications and experience does Roblox expect for Analytics Engineer roles?
Roblox's Analytics Engineer roles typically require strong SQL skills, experience with data modeling frameworks like dbt, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery. A background in computer science, statistics, or a related technical field is standard. Candidates who can demonstrate experience building pipelines that handle large-scale event or behavioral data are particularly competitive for roles on the platform team.
How do I apply for Analytics Engineer jobs at Roblox?
You can find and apply for Analytics Engineer roles at Roblox directly through their careers page or by using Migrate Mate, which lists Roblox openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. Before applying, confirm your visa category is one Roblox sponsors, prepare documentation of your educational credentials, and tailor your application to highlight experience with large-scale data infrastructure and analytics tooling specific to consumer or gaming platforms.
How do I plan my timeline if Roblox sponsors my H-1B after an OPT offer?
If you receive an offer from Roblox while on F-1 OPT, your employer must file your H-1B petition by April 1 for an October 1 start date. STEM OPT extensions provide up to 24 additional months of work authorization, giving you a buffer if you don't get selected in the first lottery cycle. Confirm with Roblox's immigration team early so the USCIS filing window doesn't catch either party unprepared.
