Tips for Finding Technical Program Manager Jobs at Roblox
Frame Your TPM Experience Around Platform Scale
Roblox TPM roles center on coordinating large-scale platform and infrastructure programs. Tailor your resume to highlight cross-functional program delivery at scale, not just project management, so your background maps directly to what their engineering org values.
Confirm E-3 or TN Eligibility Before Applying
If you hold Australian or Canadian citizenship, the E-3 and TN visas bypass the H-1B lottery entirely. Both are employer-filed, so confirming your eligibility upfront signals to Roblox's recruiting team that sponsorship is straightforward and avoids delays later in the process.
Target Roles Tied to Core Infrastructure Programs
Roblox consistently hires TPMs for platform reliability, developer tooling, and safety infrastructure. Applications tied to these verticals align with long-term engineering priorities, which makes sponsorship investment easier for the company to justify internally.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open TPM Roles by Visa Type
Roblox posts TPMs across multiple teams simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by the visa types Roblox sponsors, so you can prioritize applications where your specific status is already supported before reaching the offer stage.
Negotiate Timeline Around H-1B Cap Dates
If your offer comes outside the H-1B registration window, which opens each March, work with your recruiter to align your start date accordingly. USCIS processes new H-1B petitions with an October 1 effective date, so offers in Q1 often need a delayed start plan.
Get Your LCA Documentation Ready Before Signing
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before the H-1B petition goes to USCIS. Ask Roblox's immigration team for the expected LCA timeline early so you can plan your transition window, especially if you're moving off OPT or a 60-day grace period.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Roblox sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Program Managers?
Yes, Roblox sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Program Manager roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file petitions for qualified candidates, covering both the initial cap-subject petition and extensions. If you're subject to the H-1B lottery, Roblox will register you in March for an October 1 start, so your offer timeline should account for that cycle.
Which visa types does Roblox commonly sponsor for Technical Program Manager roles?
Roblox sponsors several visa categories for Technical Program Managers, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australians, TN for Canadians and Mexicans, F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions, and Green Card pathways under EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career.
How do I apply for Technical Program Manager jobs at Roblox?
Start by identifying open TPM roles that match your background in platform, infrastructure, or cross-functional program delivery. Migrate Mate lets you browse Roblox's current Technical Program Manager openings filtered by visa type, so you can focus on roles where your sponsorship situation is already supported. Apply directly through Roblox's careers portal and flag your visa status early in the recruiter screen.
What qualifications does Roblox expect for Technical Program Manager roles?
Roblox TPM roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, along with hands-on experience managing large-scale software or platform programs. Strong candidates can translate ambiguous technical requirements into executable plans, communicate across engineering and product leadership, and have experience with agile delivery in a high-growth technology environment.
How do I plan my timeline if I'm on F-1 OPT and targeting a TPM role at Roblox?
If your STEM OPT expires before an H-1B takes effect, there's a risk of a gap in work authorization. Time your application so Roblox can file your H-1B registration in March and, if selected, submit the petition well before your OPT end date. USCIS cap-gap provisions can bridge the gap if your OPT expires between April and September 30 while your petition is pending.
