Frame your degree around industrial automation
RoviSys files H-1B petitions under specialty occupation, so your degree needs a clear tie to the role. A computer science or software engineering degree maps cleanly, but if yours is adjacent, document coursework in control systems or embedded software explicitly.
Target open requisitions tied to client verticals
RoviSys staffs Software Systems Engineers against specific client projects in manufacturing sectors. Applying to roles aligned with your domain experience, whether life sciences, utilities, or consumer goods, signals project fit and increases your chance of reaching the offer stage.
Confirm OPT or CPT eligibility before your start date
RoviSys hires F-1 students on both CPT and OPT. If you're graduating soon, verify your OPT authorization timeline with your DSO early. USCIS allows you to begin OPT up to 90 days before graduation, so planning around your actual start date matters.
Use Migrate Mate to filter roles that actively sponsor
Not every RoviSys requisition lists visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to browse Software Systems Engineer openings at RoviSys filtered by sponsorship history, so you focus your applications on positions where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Prepare for TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
RoviSys sponsors TN visas, and for Canadian citizens the process has no USCIS filing, only a port-of-entry application. Bring your offer letter, a description of your software engineering duties, and proof of your qualifying degree to the border crossing.

Find Software Systems Engineer at RoviSys JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does RoviSys sponsor H-1B visas for Software Systems Engineers?
Yes, RoviSys sponsors H-1B visas for Software Systems Engineers. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its degree requirements in software engineering or a related technical field. Because H-1B is subject to the annual USCIS cap and lottery, timing your offer relative to the March registration window is important for planning your start date.
How do I apply for Software Systems Engineer jobs at RoviSys?
Applications go through RoviSys's careers page, where open Software Systems Engineer roles are listed by region and client vertical. You can also find and filter RoviSys openings by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which specific requisitions are open to sponsored candidates before you invest time in applying.
Which visa types does RoviSys commonly use for Software Systems Engineers?
RoviSys supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Software Systems Engineers. F-1 students often start on CPT or OPT while an H-1B petition is prepared. Canadian and Mexican nationals frequently use the TN category, which covers engineers and does not require USCIS processing in most cases.
What qualifications does RoviSys expect for Software Systems Engineer roles?
RoviSys Software Systems Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms, PLC programming, SCADA systems, or manufacturing execution systems strengthens your application significantly. Project experience in regulated industries like life sciences or oil and gas is a consistent differentiator in their hiring patterns.
How do I plan my timeline if RoviSys sponsors my H-1B while I'm on OPT?
If you start at RoviSys on OPT and they file an H-1B petition for you, the H-1B cap lottery closes in March and approved petitions take effect October 1. STEM OPT extension gives F-1 graduates up to 24 additional months of work authorization, which can bridge the gap through one or more cap cycles while your petition is pending or awaiting selection.
