Verify your DANB certification before applying
Sea Mar operates federally qualified health centers, so clinical credentialing standards are strict. Confirm your Dental Assisting National Board certification or state-required radiography credentials are current before submitting any application, since gaps can stall a sponsorship offer.
Target Sea Mar's underserved-community clinic locations
Sea Mar's clinics serve federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas, which can support expedited USCIS processing for certain visa categories. Applying to positions in those specific locations strengthens both your hire candidacy and the employer's case for sponsorship.
Search open Dental Assistant roles through Migrate Mate
Sea Mar posts Dental Assistant openings across multiple Washington locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sea Mar's visa-sponsoring positions so you're only investing time in roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Ask HR which visa pathway fits your status
Sea Mar has sponsored workers under H-1B, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways. During the offer stage, ask the recruiter directly which route their immigration counsel typically pursues for Dental Assistants so you can prepare the right supporting documents in advance.
Prepare your credential evaluation early for degree equivalency
If your dental training was completed outside the U.S., USCIS will require a credential evaluation for EB-2 or EB-3 PERM filings. Getting a NACES-approved evaluation done before your offer saves several weeks during the petition preparation stage.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline for Green Card sponsorship
EB-3 sponsorship at a community health center like Sea Mar involves a DOL PERM filing before USCIS sees your petition. That DOL stage alone can take six to twelve months, so align your current work authorization expiry date with this window before signing an offer.

Does Sea Mar Community Health Centers sponsor H-1B visas for Dental Assistants?
Yes, Sea Mar Community Health Centers does sponsor H-1B visas for Dental Assistants. As a federally qualified health center, Sea Mar has infrastructure for employer-sponsored immigration and works with immigration counsel on petitions. Confirm sponsorship availability for the specific role and location you're applying to, since not every opening will have the same sponsorship terms.
Which visa types are commonly used for Dental Assistant roles at Sea Mar Community Health Centers?
Sea Mar has sponsored Dental Assistants under the H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. For clinical support roles, EB-3 with PERM labor certification is a common long-term pathway. TN status applies if you're a Canadian or Mexican national working in a qualifying occupation. OPT and CPT are practical short-term bridges for current international students.
What qualifications and experience does Sea Mar Community Health Centers expect from Dental Assistant candidates?
Sea Mar typically looks for candidates with a dental assisting certificate or associate degree, DANB certification or state-recognized radiography credentials, and ideally some clinical chair-side experience. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a meaningful asset given Sea Mar's patient population. Foreign-trained applicants should have a credential evaluation ready to confirm U.S. equivalency before the offer stage.
How do I apply for Dental Assistant jobs at Sea Mar Community Health Centers?
Browse Sea Mar's open Dental Assistant positions on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles at employers with a visa sponsorship track record. Once you identify a match, apply through Sea Mar's careers portal and note your work authorization status clearly on the application. Following up with the HR team to confirm sponsorship terms before the final interview stage saves time if your status requires employer support.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing Green Card sponsorship through Sea Mar?
EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves a DOL PERM labor certification stage before USCIS reviews your I-140 petition. The PERM process alone typically takes six to twelve months, and USCIS adjudication adds further time depending on priority date backlogs. Start the conversation with Sea Mar's HR team as early as possible in the offer process so your current work authorization doesn't expire mid-filing.
