Target roles aligned with Green Card sponsorship
Smartly's sponsorship activity is concentrated in Green Card pathways rather than temporary work visas. Focus your applications on technical and software roles, which are the most likely to qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship at technology companies like Smartly.
Understand the EB-2 vs EB-3 distinction before applying
Smartly sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which carry different qualification requirements. EB-2 typically requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Knowing which category fits your background strengthens your application conversations.
Raise sponsorship early in the interview process
At technology companies like Smartly, hiring managers are generally familiar with Green Card sponsorship but appreciate candidates who demonstrate they understand the process. Mentioning your need for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship early avoids surprises and signals preparation.
Search for open roles on platforms that verify sponsorship history
Not every job listing at a tech company discloses sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to confirm Smartly is actively hiring for sponsored positions before investing time in an application.
Position yourself for permanent residency conversations, not just the job
Because Smartly's sponsorship pattern leans toward Green Cards rather than temporary visas, candidates who demonstrate long-term commitment to their role and career trajectory in the U.S. are better positioned to initiate productive sponsorship discussions during the offer stage.
Research Smartly's engineering and product teams as priority targets
Technology and software companies sponsoring EB-2 and EB-3 visas most commonly do so for engineering, product, and data roles. Aligning your application to Smartly's core technical teams gives you the strongest chance of landing in a sponsorship-eligible position.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Smartly sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Smartly's visa sponsorship activity is focused on Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visa temporary work visas. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, it's worth discussing directly with Smartly's recruiting team during the hiring process, as sponsorship offerings can evolve.
What visa types does Smartly sponsor?
Smartly sponsors employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. EB-2 is designed for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers skilled workers with at least a bachelor's degree. Both pathways lead to permanent residency, making Smartly a meaningful option for candidates seeking long-term immigration support rather than a temporary visa.
Which departments or roles at Smartly are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
At technology and software companies like Smartly, visa sponsorship for EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards is most commonly tied to technical roles in software engineering, product development, and data. These functions require specialized qualifications that align well with the degree and skills requirements of employment-based Green Card categories. Non-technical roles may be eligible but are less consistently sponsored.
What does the Green Card sponsorship timeline look like at a company like Smartly?
Employer-sponsored Green Cards through EB-2 or EB-3 involve multiple stages: PERM labor certification, I-140 petition, and finally adjustment of status or consular processing. The full process commonly takes two to four years or longer depending on your country of birth, with India and China-born applicants facing significantly longer waits due to visa backlogs. Starting early and aligning with your employer on timing is essential.
How do I find open sponsored roles at Smartly?
The most reliable approach is to search for Smartly on Migrate Mate, which aggregates job openings from verified sponsoring employers and lets you filter specifically by visa type and sponsorship history. This saves time compared to manually reviewing job listings that may not disclose sponsorship availability. You can also reach out directly to Smartly's talent acquisition team to ask about current sponsorship-eligible openings.
