Frame your portfolio around streaming data problems
Spotify's analytics engineering work centers on event-driven data at scale, playlist behavior, and listener segmentation. Build portfolio projects that reflect those domains so your experience reads as directly transferable, not generic.
Verify Spotify's E-Verify enrollment before applying
Spotify is enrolled in E-Verify, which is a prerequisite for H-1B sponsorship. Confirming this before you apply saves time and tells you the legal infrastructure for sponsorship is already in place for your offer.
Align your degree field to the specialty occupation standard
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet the specialty occupation standard. For Data Analytics Engineer positions, a degree in computer science, statistics, or a closely related quantitative field strengthens your petition and reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.
Target Spotify's product analytics teams specifically
Spotify structures analytics engineering around product verticals like Podcasts, Marketplace, and Free. Roles on these teams frequently involve dbt, Spark, and BigQuery. Tailoring your application to a specific team signals depth, not just broad SQL proficiency.
Use Migrate Mate to identify which Spotify roles are actively open
Spotify's Data Analytics Engineer openings move quickly and vary by team and location. Use Migrate Mate to filter for current sponsorship-eligible postings so you're applying to roles that match your visa situation, not ones already closed.

Find Data Analytics Engineer at Spotify JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Spotify sponsor H-1B visas for Data Analytics Engineers?
Yes, Spotify sponsors H-1B visas for Data Analytics Engineer roles. The company has an established immigration process and works with outside counsel to handle petitions. If you receive an offer, confirm the sponsorship scope with your recruiter early, including whether premium processing is available, since H-1B cap filing windows are time-sensitive.
How do I apply for Data Analytics Engineer jobs at Spotify?
Applications go through Spotify's careers portal at spotify.com/careers. Roles are organized by team and location, so filter carefully. You can also browse open sponsorship-eligible positions through Migrate Mate, which surfaces active Spotify Data Analytics Engineer postings for international candidates. Tailor your resume to reflect the specific product vertical the team serves.
Which visa types does Spotify commonly use for Data Analytics Engineers?
Spotify sponsors H-1B visas for most Data Analytics Engineer hires requiring work authorization. For longer-term pathways, the company also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which typically begins after you've established a track record in the role. The exact pathway depends on your qualifications, current status, and the terms negotiated at the offer stage.
What qualifications does Spotify expect for Data Analytics Engineer roles?
Spotify's Data Analytics Engineer roles generally require proficiency in SQL, experience with a transformation layer like dbt, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake. A degree in computer science, statistics, or a quantitative field is typical. Candidates who can demonstrate work with large-scale event data or behavioral analytics are prioritized over those with generalist backgrounds.
How do I plan around the H-1B timeline when targeting Spotify?
USCIS opens H-1B registrations in March for an October 1 start date. If you're finishing OPT or a program, align your Spotify job search to ensure an offer is in place before the registration window closes. If you miss the cap, ask whether Spotify can support a cap-exempt filing through an affiliated entity or extend your OPT period through a STEM extension while you wait.
