Frame your experience around streaming economics
Spotify's Business Operations roles focus on monetization, licensing deal analysis, and market expansion. Tailor your resume to show fluency with subscription revenue models, royalty structures, or content partnership metrics rather than generic operational achievements.
Target roles that align with PERM pathways
If you're thinking beyond H-1B, Spotify has filed PERM labor certifications for Business Operations positions. Look for roles with clearly defined specialty occupation requirements, since a well-matched job description strengthens both your H-1B petition and any future EB-2 or EB-3 green card case.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Spotify's open roles
Spotify posts Business Operations positions across multiple channels and regions. Use Migrate Mate to surface the specific openings where visa sponsorship is part of the hiring equation, so you're not applying blind to roles that won't move forward for international candidates.
Address nonimmigrant intent clearly before interviews
Spotify's recruiters are familiar with H-1B sponsorship, but Business Operations candidates on F-1 OPT should be ready to explain their authorization timeline upfront. If your OPT expires within six months of a potential start date, flag it early so the team can plan the H-1B cap filing accordingly.
Prepare a portfolio of cross-functional projects
Spotify's Business Operations function sits at the intersection of finance, product, and label relations. Hiring managers want evidence you've coordinated across departments to deliver measurable outcomes, not just managed processes in isolation. Bring two or three concrete examples from past roles.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
If you're on OPT STEM extension, your employer must be E-Verify enrolled. Confirm Spotify's enrollment status through the E-Verify employer search before signing an offer, since a gap here creates authorization problems that are difficult to resolve after your start date.

Find Business Operations at Spotify JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Spotify sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Spotify sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for this function, particularly for positions requiring specialized knowledge in areas like content strategy, partnership analysis, or revenue operations. Your offer letter will typically confirm sponsorship intent, and Spotify's immigration team coordinates the USCIS filing process directly with you.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Spotify?
Apply through Spotify's careers portal or browse open roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is available. Business Operations roles at Spotify are competitive, so tailor your application to reflect experience with data-driven decision-making in subscription, media, or entertainment contexts. Recruiters typically move quickly, so having your resume and references ready before you apply helps.
Which visa types does Spotify commonly use for Business Operations roles?
Spotify primarily sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations positions, which requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. For longer-term permanent residency, Spotify has also supported employees through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways via the PERM labor certification process filed with the Department of Labor.
What qualifications does Spotify look for in Business Operations candidates?
Spotify's Business Operations team typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field, with some roles preferring an MBA. Practical experience with strategic planning, licensing economics, or cross-functional program management in a media or tech environment is highly valued. Familiarity with music industry dynamics, including streaming royalty structures or label relationships, differentiates strong candidates.
How do I time my application if my visa status is expiring soon?
If you're on OPT or a visa with a near-term expiration, target Spotify's Business Operations openings at least four to six months before your authorization ends. H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date, so if you miss the annual lottery window in March, you'll need bridge authorization to cover the gap until the next filing cycle.
