Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
Account Manager roles in distribution wholesale can face scrutiny under specialty occupation requirements. Prepare documentation showing your degree directly supports the analytical, pricing, or market development functions in the job description, not just general sales experience.
Target SRS branches in high-volume markets
SRS Distribution operates a large network of branch locations across the U.S. Applying to branches in high-growth markets like Texas, Florida, and the Southeast gives you better odds of reaching hiring managers with active headcount and established onboarding infrastructure.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Account Manager roles
SRS regularly posts Account Manager openings across multiple regions, but not all listings signal sponsorship clearly. Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate to filter SRS roles where visa support has been confirmed for this function.
Time your OPT application around SRS hiring cycles
Distribution companies like SRS ramp hiring in late winter and early spring ahead of roofing season. If you're on F-1 OPT, apply two to three months before your authorization window so your start date aligns with their busiest onboarding periods.
Ask explicitly about PERM sponsorship during offer negotiation
SRS has filed EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorships, which go through the PERM labor certification process with DOL. Before signing an offer, confirm whether the role is eligible for green card sponsorship and whether the company has handled PERM filings for similar positions.
Verify your TN eligibility for Account Manager classification
TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals requires fitting a defined USMCA occupation category. Account Manager roles in distribution often qualify under Management Consultant or Marketing classifications, but you'll need an offer letter that maps your duties precisely to one of those categories.

Find Account Manager at SRS Distribution JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does SRS Distribution sponsor H-1B visas for Account Managers?
SRS Distribution's sponsorship activity for Account Managers has focused primarily on employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and TN visas. H-1B sponsorship for this role is less common at SRS, partly because Account Manager positions in distribution can face challenges meeting USCIS specialty occupation standards. If H-1B sponsorship is your goal, raise it directly with the recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Account Manager jobs at SRS Distribution?
You can apply through SRS Distribution's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lists verified Account Manager openings at employers with confirmed sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight territory management, contractor or dealer relationship experience, and any background in building products or distribution. SRS hires for Account Manager roles across many regional branches, so specifying your preferred location improves your chances of reaching the right hiring team.
Which visa types does SRS Distribution commonly use for Account Manager roles?
SRS Distribution has supported Account Manager hires through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is typically the entry point for recent graduates, while TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose duties map to an eligible USMCA occupation. EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through the PERM process is available for longer-term hires the company wants to retain permanently.
What qualifications does SRS Distribution expect from Account Manager candidates?
SRS typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with experience in outside sales or account management, ideally within distribution, construction supply, or building materials. Familiarity with contractor or dealer sales cycles is a genuine differentiator. For visa sponsorship purposes, having a degree that directly relates to the role's functions strengthens the case for specialty occupation classification with USCIS if an H-1B petition becomes relevant.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if SRS Distribution agrees to sponsor?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization takes roughly three to five months from application to approval, so apply early. TN status for Canadians can be obtained at the border on the day of travel if documentation is complete. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process, often two to four years or longer depending on your country of birth and USCIS processing times. Clarify the expected pathway with SRS before accepting an offer.
