Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Account Manager roles in medical devices must qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B sponsorship. Frame your degree in life sciences, business, or biomedical engineering alongside any clinical or product training to strengthen the theoretical and practical connection USCIS evaluates.
Target Stryker's highest-volume product divisions first
Stryker hires Account Managers most heavily across orthopedics, surgical technologies, and neurovascular. Applying to divisions with active territory openings improves your odds, since sponsorship decisions are often tied to how urgently a territory needs coverage.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship history
Stryker posts Account Manager openings across multiple regions simultaneously, making it easy to miss roles that fit your visa situation. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for positions where Stryker has an active sponsorship track record for this function.
Raise sponsorship early in the recruiter conversation
Stryker recruiters for field sales roles are accustomed to sponsorship discussions, but waiting until an offer stage creates timeline pressure. Confirming that the hiring team has handled H-1B or TN filings for Account Managers before you invest in multiple interview rounds saves both parties time.
Understand how TN status applies to this role
Canadian and Mexican nationals with a qualifying management or scientific degree may be eligible for TN status in an Account Manager capacity. DOL-defined TN categories require a direct nexus between your degree field and the role, so confirm the job description supports that connection before your offer stage.
Prepare for PERM if your long-term goal is a Green Card
Stryker has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for sales and account management roles. PERM labor certification requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were passed over, so document your performance reviews and specialized medical device expertise throughout your tenure as supporting evidence.

Find Account Manager at Stryker JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Account Managers?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Account Manager roles, though approval depends on the position qualifying as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Roles tied to specific product lines like orthopedics or surgical technologies, where a relevant degree is a genuine requirement, tend to have the clearest path to sponsorship. Confirming this early with the recruiter is the most practical first step.
Which visa types does Stryker commonly use for Account Manager roles?
Stryker sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for this role, with TN status available to Canadian and Mexican nationals holding qualifying degrees. The company has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-tenured Account Managers. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates are considered for this function as well, particularly for roles in high-need territories.
What qualifications does Stryker expect for Account Manager positions?
Stryker typically looks for a bachelor's degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, business, or a related field, combined with either clinical exposure or prior B2B sales experience. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree must connect directly to the role. Candidates with hospital, OR, or medical device industry backgrounds are consistently prioritized, especially for surgical and orthopedic product lines.
How do I apply for Account Manager jobs at Stryker?
You can browse and apply for Account Manager openings at Stryker directly through Migrate Mate, which aggregates roles by sponsorship track record so you can focus on positions where international candidates have a realistic path. Roles are organized by product division and geography, which matters at Stryker since hiring decisions and sponsorship support often sit at the divisional level rather than centrally.
How do I plan my timeline around Stryker's H-1B sponsorship process?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 employment start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your start date must align with your remaining OPT authorization or a timely cap-gap extension. Stryker generally initiates the USCIS filing process well before the lottery window, so securing an offer by late January or early February gives the legal team enough runway to prepare your petition.
