Align Your Credentials to Device Standards
Stryker's Technician roles often require familiarity with FDA-regulated manufacturing environments. Before applying, document any experience with GMP, ISO 13485, or medical device quality systems on your resume, since these credentials signal immediate readiness to hiring managers.
Target Roles Near Stryker Manufacturing Hubs
Stryker operates major manufacturing and service facilities in Michigan, New Jersey, and Texas. Technician openings in those locations tend to have clearer sponsorship pathways because established HR and legal infrastructure for work authorization filings already exists at those sites.
Browse Open Technician Positions Through Migrate Mate
Stryker posts Technician roles across multiple divisions and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Stryker positions that align with your visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Understand the Difference Between Cap-Subject and Cap-Exempt Filings
Stryker is a for-profit employer, so its H-1B petitions are cap-subject and subject to the annual lottery. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to Stryker avoids the lottery entirely under portability rules.
Prepare for Technical Assessments Specific to Device Repair
Stryker Technician interviews frequently include hands-on or scenario-based assessments covering surgical instrument repair, implant component inspection, or field service diagnostics. Preparing with device-specific examples from prior roles strengthens both your candidacy and your specialty occupation case for USCIS.

Find Technician at Stryker JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the position requires at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific technical field such as biomedical engineering or electronics. Because Stryker is a for-profit company, these petitions go through the annual USCIS H-1B lottery, so timing your offer relative to the April filing window matters.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Stryker?
You can apply directly through Stryker's careers portal at stryker.com. For a filtered view of Technician openings that align with your visa type and situation, Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. Once you identify a role, tailor your application to highlight regulated-industry experience, any device-specific certifications, and familiarity with FDA or ISO quality standards that are relevant to medical device manufacturing.
Which visa types does Stryker commonly use for Technician roles?
Stryker supports several work visa categories for Technicians. H-1B is the most common route for long-term sponsorship. F-1 OPT and CPT allow students and recent graduates to work while their degree authorization is active. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations. For roles leading to permanent residence, Stryker has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Stryker expect for sponsored Technician positions?
Most sponsored Technician roles at Stryker require a degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing or field service environment is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with GMP principles, ISO 13485 quality management systems, or surgical instrument repair makes your application more competitive and supports the specialty occupation requirement USCIS evaluates in H-1B petitions.
How do I time my application around Stryker's visa sponsorship process?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, work backward from the April 1 USCIS filing deadline. Offers typically need to be in place by late February or early March to allow time for employer documentation and filing preparation. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you have additional runway, but starting the H-1B process well before your authorization expires reduces risk of a gap in work authorization.
