Align your degree to the role
Stryker's Account Representative positions typically require a degree in life sciences, business, or a related field. Before applying, confirm your credential maps clearly to the role, since specialty occupation classification depends on that direct connection.
Target territories with active clinical accounts
Stryker hires Account Representatives by geographic territory tied to hospital and surgical center density. Applying to roles in metro areas with large health systems improves your odds of landing a territory with strong revenue priority and faster hiring decisions.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Stryker's talent acquisition teams handle visa paperwork through their HR infrastructure, but individual recruiters need to flag your status internally before an offer is drafted. Mention your visa requirement in the first call so the right approvals happen in parallel.
Protect your OPT timeline around Stryker's sales cycle
Medical device sales onboarding at Stryker often includes product training periods before you hit a territory. If you're on F-1 OPT, account for that ramp-up time when calculating whether your remaining authorization window covers the H-1B cap-gap period.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Account Representative roles by sponsorship
Search Stryker's Account Representative openings on Migrate Mate to surface only roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations after a phone screen.
Understand how PERM timing affects your long-term path
If you're targeting a Green Card through Stryker, PERM labor certification requires your role to be documented as a permanent position. Account Representatives in defined territories generally satisfy this, but you'll want the green card conversation started well before your H-1B second extension.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Account Representatives?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Account Representative roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as life sciences or business. Sponsorship is handled through Stryker's internal HR and legal teams, so confirm your visa needs with the recruiter before or during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Account Representative jobs at Stryker?
Apply directly through Stryker's careers portal or browse open Account Representative positions on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is available. Roles are posted by territory, so search by location as well as title. Tailor your resume to show clinical or B2B sales experience, since Stryker's hiring managers prioritize candidates who can demonstrate performance in outcomes-driven sales environments.
Which visa types does Stryker commonly use for Account Representatives?
Stryker sponsors a range of visa categories for this role, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for current students or recent graduates, J-1 visa for eligible exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for candidates pursuing a Green Card. The right category depends on your citizenship, education, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Stryker expect for Account Representative roles?
Stryker generally looks for a bachelor's degree in life sciences, kinesiology, business, or a related field, combined with demonstrated sales aptitude or clinical exposure. Many Account Representatives come from athletic training, physical therapy, or clinical backgrounds that translate well to surgical and orthopedic device sales. Prior B2B or medical sales experience strengthens your application, though it is not always required at the entry level.
How does the visa sponsorship timeline work for a Stryker Account Representative offer?
Once Stryker extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, their legal team files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard processing runs several months, though premium processing is available to accelerate USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days. If you are on OPT, the cap-gap provision protects your work authorization between OPT expiration and H-1B start date on October 1.
