Frame your experience around Google's advertiser verticals
Google organizes its Account Representative teams by industry vertical, including retail, financial services, and technology. Tailoring your resume to reflect measurable outcomes in one of these verticals signals immediate fit and strengthens the business case your hiring team makes when initiating sponsorship.
Distinguish yourself with Google Ads certifications early
Completing Google's own Skillshop certifications before applying, particularly for Google Ads Search and Performance Max, demonstrates product fluency that interviewers screen for directly. Hiring managers in this function expect candidates to speak to campaign architecture, not just relationship management.
Clarify your visa category with your recruiter upfront
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for this role. If you're Australian or from Singapore, confirm which pathway applies to you early in the process. H-1B1 and E-3 approvals don't require lottery selection, which changes the filing timeline significantly.
Search open roles using Migrate Mate's sponsorship-filtered job board
Google regularly posts Account Representative openings across multiple U.S. offices. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where Google has an active sponsorship track record, so you're applying where hiring teams are already set up to file.
Understand how Google's offer timing affects your H-1B filing window
If you require an H-1B and don't currently hold one, an offer in late 2025 or early 2026 positions you for the April cap-subject filing period. USCIS requires registration before the lottery, so your start date and offer letter timing need to align with your recruiter well in advance.
Confirm your LCA covers your actual work location
Google Account Representatives often work from a specific metro office tied to a client region. The Labor Condition Application your employer files with DOL must name the actual work location. If your role later shifts to a different Google office, an amended LCA is required before you move.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Account Representatives?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Account Representative roles. Google's legal and HR teams are experienced with the cap-subject H-1B process, including USCIS registration and petition filing. If you're offered a role and don't already hold H-1B status, Google will typically initiate the process in coordination with immigration counsel ahead of the April filing window.
How do I apply for Account Representative jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com. Search for Account Representative or related titles like Account Executive or Sales Representative within the Google Ads or gTech teams. You can also browse verified open roles where Google has an active sponsorship history using Migrate Mate, which filters listings specifically for visa-sponsoring employers.
Which visa types does Google commonly sponsor for Account Representatives?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Account Representative positions. H-1B1 is available to nationals of Singapore and Chile; E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens. Both the H-1B1 and E-3 avoid the H-1B lottery entirely, which can meaningfully shorten your path to starting work if you qualify for either category.
What qualifications does Google expect for Account Representative roles?
Google's Account Representative roles typically require a bachelor's degree, which is also the threshold for H-1B specialty occupation classification. Beyond the degree, Google screens for experience managing digital advertising campaigns or client-facing sales in a technology context. Fluency with performance metrics, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Google's advertising products are consistent expectations across postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once Google extends an offer?
Timeline depends on your visa type. E-3 and H-1B1 visa petitions are filed directly at a U.S. consulate and can move in a matter of weeks once your employer completes the Labor Condition Application with DOL. H-1B processing through USCIS runs two to four months under standard processing, or two to three weeks with premium processing. Google's immigration team typically coordinates these steps after offer acceptance.
