Align your degree to the role
Stryker's Business Manager positions typically require a degree in business, life sciences, or a related field. If your degree is in a different discipline, document how your coursework and experience map to the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
Target divisions with consistent hiring
Stryker hires Business Managers across divisions like Spine, Trauma, and MedSurg at different volumes throughout the year. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data by job title and worksite state to identify which Stryker divisions file the most LCAs for this role.
Ask about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Confirm Stryker has started this step before you give notice to a current employer, as LCA certification alone can take one to two weeks.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles
Business Manager openings at Stryker are posted across divisions and regions and can be hard to track in one place. Migrate Mate filters Stryker's open positions specifically for visa-sponsoring roles, saving you time when targeting this employer directly.
Prepare for a territory-based interview structure
Stryker's Business Manager interviews often include scenario questions about managing a sales territory, surgeon relationships, and product adoption. Framing your answers around metrics like territory growth and account conversion signals readiness for the field-facing nature of the role.
Understand your OPT or grace period window
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period after employment ends is not work-authorized. Coordinate your Stryker start date so there is no gap between your current authorization end date and your first day, avoiding status complications before your H-1B is filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The process requires Stryker to first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, then submit an H-1B petition to USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B filings, your registration must be selected in the annual lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Manager roles at Stryker?
H-1B is the most common visa type for Business Manager roles at Stryker, covering candidates who need employer-sponsored work authorization in a specialty occupation. F-1 OPT and CPT allow students to gain experience ahead of full sponsorship, while TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM is also available for longer-term employees.
What qualifications does Stryker expect for Business Manager roles?
Stryker's Business Manager positions in medical devices generally require a bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in sales, account management, or healthcare operations. Field-based roles often prioritize candidates with prior medical device or pharmaceutical sales exposure and comfort working directly with clinical staff in hospital or OR environments.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Stryker?
You can apply through Stryker's careers page or find visa-sponsoring Business Manager openings filtered by role and sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. Before applying, confirm the specific division and location, since Business Manager responsibilities and sponsorship timelines can differ across Stryker's product groups. Tailoring your application to the division's product focus strengthens your candidacy.
How do I manage the timeline between a Stryker offer and my visa filing?
Once Stryker extends an offer, their immigration team or outside counsel typically begins the LCA filing with DOL immediately. From LCA certification to USCIS H-1B petition approval can take two to six months under standard processing, or as fast as two to three weeks with premium processing. Build this window into your employment start date discussions with your hiring manager.
