Align your credentials to FDA standards
Stryker's Development Managers work under strict FDA design control requirements. Credential your experience against ISO 13485 or 21 CFR Part 820 before applying, as hiring panels will probe for familiarity with design history files and risk management documentation.
Target divisions with active NPI pipelines
Stryker's Spine, Joint Replacement, and Endoscopy divisions run frequent new product introduction cycles, which drive the most Development Manager openings. Prioritize roles tied to these business units, where international sponsorship tends to follow active headcount growth.
Find sponsored Development Manager openings on Migrate Mate
Filter for Development Manager roles at Stryker directly on Migrate Mate to surface positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. This cuts the time spent cold-applying to roles that exclude sponsorship candidates before your resume is reviewed.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Stryker sponsors several visa categories for this function. During offer negotiation, confirm whether the role supports H-1B, TN, or Green Card pathways, and get the expected PERM or I-140 timeline in writing before your start date is finalized.
Structure your OPT bridge if you are transitioning
If you are on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window covers Stryker's H-1B cap-subject filing timeline. USCIS typically opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start, so a role beginning after June carries real gap risk without a cap-exempt fallback.
Document cross-functional leadership for the PERM process
PERM labor certification requires Stryker to define the role's minimum requirements. Keep records of your cross-functional project leadership, engineering team size managed, and regulatory milestones delivered. DOL audits frequently scrutinize whether experience requirements match actual duties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The process typically involves Stryker's immigration counsel filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B filings, the registration window opens in March each year for an October 1 start date, so timing your offer against this cycle matters.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Stryker?
Apply through Stryker's careers portal and filter by job function and location. Roles in Kalamazoo, Mahwah, and Flower Mound are common hubs for Development Manager positions. Migrate Mate also surfaces Stryker Development Manager openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which helps you prioritize applications where sponsorship is confirmed upfront.
Which visa types does Stryker commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Stryker uses several visa categories for Development Managers, including H-1B for most specialty occupation hires, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering or management credentials, and F-1 OPT or CPT for candidates earlier in the process. Stryker also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-term employees in this function.
What qualifications does Stryker expect for Development Manager positions?
Most Development Manager roles at Stryker require a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field, with several years of product development experience in a regulated medical device environment. Familiarity with FDA design controls, ISO 13485, and cross-functional team leadership is consistently listed as core to the role.
How do I navigate the Green Card process if Stryker offers sponsorship?
Stryker typically sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories, which require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the I-140 petition. The full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval commonly takes two to five years, depending on your country of birth and the applicable priority date backlog.
