Align your resume to healthcare operations language
Stanford Health Care's admin roles often require experience with scheduling, EHR platforms like Epic, and cross-departmental coordination. Framing your background around clinical workflow support signals direct fit to their hiring teams.
Prioritize applying through Stanford's careers portal
Stanford Health Care posts Administrative Assistant openings directly on its careers site, and internal routing to HR matters for sponsorship approvals. Applications submitted through third-party aggregators may not trigger the same visa review pathway.
Confirm OPT start dates against your offer timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, Stanford's onboarding process for healthcare admin roles can take four to six weeks after an offer. Factor in your OPT expiration and STEM extension eligibility before accepting, so your work authorization doesn't lapse during onboarding.
Ask specifically about H-1B cap-exempt status
Stanford Health Care is affiliated with Stanford University, a nonprofit research institution. Cap-exempt organizations can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery window, which means you're not limited to the April filing season.
Use Migrate Mate to filter live Administrative Assistant openings at Stanford
Sponsorship-eligible admin roles at Stanford Health Care don't stay open long. Migrate Mate lets you filter by employer and visa type so you can identify and apply to relevant openings before they close.
Get your USCIS documentation organized before the offer stage
Stanford's HR team will need to initiate a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be filed. Having your degree certificates, transcripts, and prior visa documentation ready cuts weeks off the processing timeline.

Find Administrative Assistant at Stanford Health Care JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Stanford Health Care sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
Yes, Stanford Health Care sponsors H-1B visas for Administrative Assistant roles. Because of its affiliation with Stanford University, it may qualify as a cap-exempt employer, meaning it can file H-1B petitions year-round rather than through the annual lottery. You should confirm cap-exempt status directly with the hiring or HR team during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at Stanford Health Care?
Apply through Stanford Health Care's official careers portal at stanfordhealthcare.org. Search for Administrative Assistant roles and filter by department or location. When you apply, indicate your visa status accurately on the application. You can also browse current sponsorship-eligible openings at Stanford Health Care through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa holders.
Which visa types does Stanford Health Care commonly use for Administrative Assistant roles?
Stanford Health Care sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Administrative Assistant positions, along with employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. OPT and CPT are common entry points for candidates transitioning from academic programs, while H-1B is the primary long-term work visa pathway once you have a confirmed offer.
What qualifications are expected for Administrative Assistant roles at Stanford Health Care?
Most Administrative Assistant roles at Stanford Health Care expect experience with scheduling, document management, and coordination in a clinical or academic healthcare setting. Familiarity with EHR systems, particularly Epic, is a recurring requirement. A bachelor's degree is often preferred for roles that involve cross-departmental coordination, though some positions accept equivalent administrative experience in a healthcare environment.
How do I estimate the visa sponsorship timeline after receiving an offer from Stanford Health Care?
After an offer, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes seven to ten business days. The H-1B petition then goes to USCIS, with standard processing running three to six months and premium processing available in roughly 15 business days. If you're on OPT, your authorization must remain valid through this period, so factor in STEM extension eligibility if your OPT expiration is close.
